DIY Rear wiper Delete
#43
Heres how to remove the wiper:
1)POP off the plastic cap on the base of the wiper arm from the outside. It just pops off.
2)You'll see a nut holding the arm to the motor; remove nut then remove arm.
3)Open hatch and remove all retaining clips holding inner plastic panel. There should only be a few.
4)Carefully pop off plastic panel. It may take some elbow grease since it's never been popped off before but it will happen.
5)Unplug wiper motor from plug
6)Unbolt the 3 nuts holding motor in place.
7)remove motor and insert whatever plug you have.
8)do everything in reverse now to re-assemble.

+1 for Junior, thanks for the bump and the quick and concise explanation of what to do. I plan on doing this before my 1,000-mile trek back to NC from Wisconsin. I'm gonna miss this state Hopefully Xmas...
Anyways, back on track. Going to Home Depot and ACE to check on plugs again, but even being in NC and WI, despite the weather, back window's gonna get dirty. It's the nature of the hatchback. I see just as well out the back window, using the wiper or not. And even still, side mirrors, looking over my shoulder, having shotgun poke his/her head out the window, or just doing it myself, it all gets the job done. More worried about what's in front moreso than what's in back. It's a Fit, it's not gonna make that many passes that require lane changes, and for those blind spot checks, .... I forgot where I was going...
