fender well lining removal

has anyone removed the front fender well lining to avoid rubbing on sharp turns and or bumps on the freeway? i have noticed after the drop and the rims ive been rubbing on hard turns or bumps on the freeway going 65 mph. the screws or clips that hold the fender lining have start to come off and i was thinking about removing it. wondering if anyone has done it already to avoid the rubbing or will it still rub with the fender lining off? i am running tanabe df210 with 16x7 rims wrapped with falken ziex 205 45 16. any suggestions would be great thanks!

i wouldnt take off the fender lining... when i had my 240 i took everything off cause the car was slammed... i got a lot of dirt inside the door sill... those plastic things are there for a reason... but if you dont mind the dirt... i guess you can take them off...

i did the same thing to my old g20. i took the fender lining off and it stopped rubbing. the car was slammed. i didnt really notice dirt getting in the door sills but i did see the bot portion of the engine was messy from all the dirt and water splashing on it. i didnt have a cai tho so i didnt worry too much. i dont know i guess imma be running smaller tires then.

I looked into doing that, when I started taking it off I noticed there is nothing between the fender and the inside of the headlights (and also in my case the CAI filter) except that fender liner.

I would say see if you can find smaller tires to fix the problem, a few brands offer a 195/40R16 that or switch to the GF210's.

just don't go as fast lol. yeah my drivers side is a lil torn up and both clips on both sides (the one at the tip top) are gone but i don't have much of a problem on the freeway with them. It's the damn canyons that get em. =] I'm dropped on gf210's and rollin on 205/40/16's. =]

i might have to change it to 205 40 16s but yea i think its the 205 not the height. if its 195 it wont rub against the outer fender wall lining. but yea the rims are up for sale since imma go back to 15s and then get some other 15s that i have my eyes on. thanks for all of ur inputs!
