Question Reccoemdations for modest suspesion upgrade for dealing with dirt roads.

Hey all!

After watching a few guys mod their fits for offroad on youtube I'm going a similar route rather than plunking down for a new truck, at least just yet. The issue is we moved to the -sticks-, and the last 5 miles +- to our house is all dirt roads in either direction, and it's kicking the crap out of the ole girl (2018), and after 15 inches of snow, well, good thing I know a guy with a plow. So I'm looking for reccomendations on shocks, springs, and tires. I am not a gearhead, although lived with one for years am a blacksmith/metal/wood worker with a full shop.. plasma cutter, welder, bandsaw, etc. et al. and do a lot of my own low level stuff and could do this, actually, but is below zero out, and even in my big shop the heat is not operational, so I got a local shop who can do the work for me instead because honestly I have a list of crap to do a million things long around here already..

I want to lift it a couple of inches, and do not want to use spacers and looking for spring/shock set that isn't going overboard for the use case. Also looking go up a size in tire - if I recall I can put up to 16" without having to make room so want basic, but functional rims with a offroad/road hybrid tire if such a thing exists. Anything I'm over looking or will need as well?

Cheers,

CD.

I haven't seen anybody on these forums that has lifted their Fit without using spacers. Thinking that if you want to skip the spacers you could look into air suspension or finding a spring set from another make/model that can be budged into place. Maybe the HRV might have something but that's speculation at best. Either way whatever you try, post it here. I'd love to see more off road Fits.

Yeah, spacers do seem to be the go-to, don't they? The air systems I've seen allow you to adjust, but they're also rather pricey and are probably overkill for what I need.. I've found a few sets of shocks coilovers / springs that may to the trick though, and All-terrains at 215/60/16 may be the tire to go with.
