Hello, I recently got a used 2016 Fit LX CVT and am loving it. My only gripe so far is the lack of 12v outlets and USB charging ports. To remedy this I ordered an insert with two USB charging ports that takes up the spot of one of the blank button faces in the center console below the climate controls and plugs directly into the fuse panel below the dash left of the steering wheel.

Unfortunately it did not come with any directions. and the sellers page only has instructions for installing it left of the steering wheel below the Econ button. I have found multiple references on how to remove the panel with the button covers in the center by removing a screw on the left side of it. But I have not found anything that tells me how to run the wires to the fuse box.

You are going to have to attach a wire to the back of the USB connector and run it over to the fuse box. Just run it under the dash and zip tie it up. It is pretty straight forward. For ground wire find a screw or bolt that bolts to the frame and ground it there.

I would tap into the cigarette (12v socket) wires/fuse as that fuse is generally not attached to anything that the car needs to run.

 

Thank you, it actually came with wires already attached (yay!). I was hoping to keep it a little neater then under the dash with zip ties. I guess a better question is if you would know how to run the wires up around the radio and steering column while keeping everything inside the dash?

I might just print off the assembly diagrams for the given areas and try digging into it this weekend. I was hoping to find something a little more definite before I started tearing things apart but I guess not. Wish me luck!
