my rear alignment was still perfect after installing the coilovers. The front was off, so I had an alignment done. But I need to install camber bolts now because of the rubbing. I pulled the front fenders slightly too...

Rear alignment shouldn't change much, if at all. I have an issue, so I can here the top of the passenger front strut grinding and I know it's because it is popping up, but I've tightened the bolt down as far as I can get it. I don't have this issue with the driver side moving up and down too much, if at all. What's the best way to correct these if tightening the bolt isn't an option? Should I take it to a shop and try an air tool? I never understood how an air tool can tighten the bolt if it can't hold the hex in place at the same time. Any insight? Thanks

it shouldnt be moving.. how far up is the strut sticking out of the hole up top? shouldnt be very far. we left off a rubber bushing and a hex-nut (from the oem strut) and had the same problem..had to go back and replace. are you sure you used all the hardware?

I took everything off the stock strut that the manual said to. The strut sticks out about an inch from the rubber on top. When stationary, everything is tight, but when I go over bumps and hop on the frame inside the passenger cabin, it pops out, moving up about half an inch. I've been told an impact gun will tighten it more so I'm going to that soon. If that doesn't work, I'm going to try the stock nuts that don't have the nylon in them.

Correct, there is no way to tighten the bolt on the top side of the body, without having an allen hex in place. There is another nut that can be torqued down to prevent the shock assembly from moving:

Ok, quick fix. On the front damper, there is a factory bushing and a nut (19mm) that needs to be used that holds the upper spring seat mount (included) and spring in place. (note: assembly before putting the factory rubber upper mount on).

An impact may not torque this nut (19mm) down all the way. So take an open 19mm wrench and then take the allen hex to hold the shock into place. If this 19mm nut is not torqued down all the way, this will leave the excess play that will result in not being able to torque down the top nut on the very top side of the body of the car, therefore resulting in the shock moving to move and causing this noise.

See if this fixes the problem.

As SSMTEN noted, the bushing and hex-nut (19mm) from the factory strut needs to be used to make sure the spring is held into place and also to prevent the excess play which will cause movement of the damper.

When you go lowest setting in the front all 3 rings are stacked upon one another. The (1) lower spring seat ring, (2) lock nut right beneath the spring seat ring, (3) the lower adjust case lock nut right above the bottom adjustment case.
