Group Request: GE Carbon Fiber Trunk Hatch
#22
Never had much of an interest in carbon fiber stuff in the past, so I've never asked or looked into it, but can the finish on these be painted over? It would be cool to have it painted on the outside and leave the carbon on the inside with the rear interior paneling removed, or drilled out like a screen to show what's underneath. Add some lighting in there and you have a non moving disco ball emitting beams of light in your cabin. New idea? haha

hum.... on the fence about this one.
I'm only vaguely interested in the CF hatch... but just because I did some minor damage to my hatch (self-inflicted isn't covered under warranty, I'm guessing).
pricing (including spoiler re-install) and actual styling could sway me in either direction.

We also have to decide as a group whether we want the spoiler molded into the hatch or if it should be left up to each individual to drill (or possibly just 3M tape?) and attach their own spoiler. Spoilers are such an individual/subjective choice...and the fact that there are so many different aftermarket ones to choose from...my vote is for the hatch molded w/o a spoiler.
