I haven't posted any new pics lately so I thought I would show the latest set of steering wheel inserts in silver:

Just got done with the install today.
I'm posting pics and links for the swap below.

Disclaimer: I, FF,net, or Rogue FIt are responsible for any problems that might occur for the swap. Do it at your own risk!

Important* make sure you disconnect the battery and wait a few minutes before working on the airbag. Don't want to accidentally inflate the thing now

Here's a link I found for removing the airbag:
Driver's Airbag Replacement

The star head bolt(the red star next to it) is the one you take off for the airbag. One on each side and the airbag come right off.
The 2 blue circles are where the 2 holes where you take 2 screws off for the silver inserts. Two on each side.

Edit: added this pic of the back of the inserts.
The red dots are where the screws on the back of the steering wheel screw into the inserts.
Green dots are where the screw screw down the inserts behind the airbag.

For those that might like to just take the steering wheel off and then remove the screws behind the steering wheel for the inserts here's a link:
Steering Wheel Removal

A flap at the bottom of the steering wheel. There's a slot in it for you to put a screw driver and pry it off.

Taking the flap off allow access to the airbag harness. The connector can be pull out to make it easier to connect/disconnect the harness.

Once you take the airbag off it look like this.
You can see the yellow harness for the airbag and the black harness at the bottom is for the horn.
The silver inserts are also held on by a single screw on the inside (my screw driver is on one). Once that's off and you remove the 2 screws behind the steering wheel the inserts come right off.

If you've cruise control then you've to disconnect the green harness on the right side. The two small rectangular harness(one on each side) are for the pedal shifters just unclip them from the inserts.

Back of the airbag.

CF inserts on.

All done
