thinking to change from 16" to 17"
Time to change my tires, i have a 09' sport fit with OEM rims. I'm thinking to go on 17". i like the OEM rims (17" OEM Acura 2013 ILX). i know have to do some mods.....
The questions are...
What tire size can i use with 17"?
What about the MPG?
It's a daily use car.
Please help with that guys......

google "miata tire calc"
I say stick with the 16s.
Invest in a good quality LIGHTWEIGHT tire that still performs great.
a 17" rim and tire combo is too dang heavy for our cars.
And since the weight is pushed further away from the hub, the car will react like an even heavier combo was used.
Example, I put 19"s on my camry that overall with tires weight 11 pounds heavier then the 14" steelies and tires that came on it. The car drove and handled like I had added 30 pounds to the dang thing. The 19in rims were only half a pound heavier then the steel rims. The extra weight came from the tires. Even though the 19" tires had half the sidewall height, the extra steel bands to keep it stiff added a lot of weight
Another example, I was recently researching tires to replace my Dunlops (they are 16 pounds of course). I found a set of 195/60/15s and they add ONE pound more.
I found plenty of brand name tires that did various jobs better. Some weighed 24 pounds! WTF!! so my tires I had found were 17 pounds and did everything I needed them to, and yet there were crappier tires that out weighed them by 7 pounds
That is just tires for 15" rims!!
EDIT your stock tires are 185/55/16
here is a couple fitments
195/55/16 speedo says 60, really 61.1
205/50/16 speedo says 60, really 60.1 ******
215/50/16 speedo says 60, really 61.1
225/45/16 speedo says 60, really 59.9 ******
