Good 3-Season Tire (Front Brakes too) for '09 Fit Sport (185/55 16")?
Hello and thanks for reading.
My girlfriend has an '09 Fit Sport. She needs new tires and front brakes. She bought 15" rims for winter tires last season, so she's covered there. But she now needs to replace the originals, which came on the less commonly sized 16" rims.
Therefore, looking for recommendations for three-season tire. Her foremost considerations will be durability and cost. Ideally, respectable rain performance can also be had. Dry weather sport performance is a low priority compared to the aforementioned.
She also needs new front brakes. If anyone has any thoughts there, that'd be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your time and input.

Thanks for the tip.
I figured out the 205/50 16" option after I'd started the thread, and I did note those tires specifically. Great info and endorsement. Definitely looking for that kind of first-hand knowledge.
Any others? Happy to hear other recommendations. Wondering if anyone has experience with the Yoko 185s? I've read some reviews, and they seem all over the place.

I've had good experience with my Kumho Ecsta 4x also in 205/50/16 and I just did my brakes and used Akebono pads part# ACT1394
These pads are quiet and produce very little dust .I paid around 75.00 at Pep boys for the pads but they may be cheaper at Tire rack or elsewhere.

Wow...actual consensus! How rare and satisfyingly straightforward. I'll move forward with those.
Though I'll admit I remain curious about the orange-peel-using (yes, not kidding) Yokohama Avid Ascends that come in the original size — not enough to take a chance on them, mind you. But, for anyone curious, here's an excerpt from an article on them:
Back in October, the Museum of Science in Boston unveiled a new installation – a tire. The BluEarth-1, an ecologically-friendly prototype tire made by Yokohama was placed in the Transportation, Nanotechnology and Renewable Energy exhibit hall, due to it's strong associations with all three. The BluEarth-1 was made with a resin derived from orange oil, which is not only a renewable resource, but has a remarkably positive effect on the rubber composition of the tire on a molecular scale. Although there have been limited lines of orange oil-based tires available in Europe,Yokohama's new Avid Ascend Grand Touring tire is the first consumer tire to reach the US that uses this technology, and really the first tire to bring the technology entirely to fruition.

Thanks so much for all the replies and endorsements.
