Fit sucks on tires
I have racked up an amazing 60000 on my 08 fit. I am going on my 4th set of tires!!!!! What the hell!!!!! Just venting lol. Anyone else run into shitty mileage on there tires? What brands and mileage are you getting?

When was the last time you checked your alignment?
I personally had the factory tires (Dunlop SP31s) for a little over 23,400 miles before replacing them. They still had about 4k left in them and I'm a fairly aggressive driver too.
Also, how often do you check your tire's pressure and have them rotated?

i didn't replace my original dunlops til 32xxx, they were waaaaay worn tho lol. I'm running Goodyear Eagle GT's right now since they're such a good price right now and they're also not that bad of tires. currently at 33,000 miles.

i agree with jdm chris, stock ones suck, i put about 20k on them an my friend put another 10k.
i then got falken 912's never going back.
do you guys think it has anything to do withe the fits rear toe being wierd? i remember looking at my numbers and it was like crazy off and you can't adjust it.

no particular car sucks with tire wear...
alignment will kill tire wear...
tire compound will kill tire wear...
worn bushings can help to kill tire wear...
but no car will kill tire wear... get an alignment, as suggested... switch to a higher tread life tire, as suggested...

Whoever told you that the wheelbase exempts the car from being aligned either flat out lied or is an idiot. Your alignment can thrown off if you hit a hard enough bump, a large pot hole, etc. regardless of vehicle size.
Granted, doing a tire rotation helps wear the tires evenly, you still have to pay attention to your tire's wear characteristics. So if you're burning through a set of tires that last typically last 40k and you're only getting about 15-20k miles out of them while typically driving in a normal non-aggressive manner, I would recommend having your alignment checked.

If the purchased tire is good as it is, with appropriate intrinsic qualities (tread wear, compound, etc) you wouldn't ever need a warranty. Tire purchasing is a compromise though, as I said - can't have 'em all.
And yes, the short wheelbase has absolutely nothing to do with tire wear.
How to know if alignment is out of whack? That's what an alignment check is for. Do that once a year

That's incredibly short life for tires. I had Yokohama S.drives on my GD (love those tires) and they lasted about 27k miles with very aggressive driving.
Something tells me your alignment is off. Under/over inflation can also cause tire wear but it's not as severe. You CAN have an alignment issue and the car drive "fine". Excessive toe in/out will not necessarily cause a pull or shimmy, but it will scrub your tires when going straight! Extreme toe settings will influence steering response/feel but if it changed progressively worse some drivers may not notice it. Could also cause the car to "follow" road irregularities, but that's also dependant on style of tire. I say get the alignment checked and go from there. I couldn't imagine going through that many sets of tires even with extreme summer tires (z1, azenis, advan, kumho xs, etc.) unless there was track time involved which i assume you aren't racing it.
Also, short wheelbase has no damn thing to do with it. If anything long wheelbase cars are worse off, because the caster is more extreme of an angle and thus wears tires irregularly during tight cornering (parking lot maneuvers). S class, 7 series, Jag XJs all are victims to this with aggressive tires.
