Do I need new lug nuts?

I just ordered a set of Rota wheels and I was wondering if I'd be able to use my OEM lugs on them for a while.

Are they shaped different? It's been a while since I've used any aftermarket wheel.

If so, what do you recommend?

Get new lugs asap! It has to be a big cone shape at the bottom.

I'm currently using 99-00 Civic SI wheels with Fit OEM lugs. I'm sure the OEM Fit wheels and the SI wheels are the same but I don't remember which shape they were. The rota wheels, I don't know what they look like.

Does anyone here know whether the Rota wheels would need tapered, ball, or flat lugs? I think the OEM lugs are ball shaped... but I don't really remember.

well OEM is acorn shaped (ball type) and the aftermarket wheels use tapered seats...
btw it's dangerous to ride with the wrong lug nuts... they could damage your wheel or untighten...
the seat is what's keeping them from untightening

Can anyone recommend some reasonably priced lug nuts? Closed ended preferably but not necessary.

NO MUTEKI! I broke one of their "keys" before with little effort and getting my lugs off wasn't easy.

After searching, I'm a bit disappointed. The prices of lug nuts has seriously gone up since I last bought some in '04. It's like they've doubled lol.

Thinking about these.

Lug Nuts Wheel Adapters Wheel Spacers Lug Bolts

I had something similar to these in black before and I liked that the key went in the lug instead of around it. Would you trust these? lol. I want red lugs btw so those seemed like a good choice. They're cheap and sadly that scares me.

well after doing some research it seems that all the spline drives have a tendency to have problems, either they round off or the key cracks... as for the ones you posted, i think it would be fairly easy to just stick a tool in them too unbolt them... but idk... just my .02... the safest bolts i've seen so far are the ones with some kind of star pattern...

i love my buddlyclub open ended i got from evasive. Only bad bad is that they are open ended, but they are pretty inexpensive. I think it was $18 for a pack of 4.

Must be nice to think $18x4 is inexpensive lol. I couldn't see myself spending more than $50 for a set.

That would help if I didn't need them all at once and asap. I might do that later on.

Question for anyone who might know:

Would I torque these lug nuts the same as stock or does something change? I think stock is 90ft/lbs.
