Getting wheels and tires

Hey guys,
I saved enough money for wheels and tires. I have a 2008 RED sport. Everything is still original. The car have not been lower yet, maybe later. Can you guys recommend wheels and size of tires. Should I go for 16 or 17 ?
I was checking out discountiredirect.com
What do you guy think of this wheel ?

It depends on your purpose.

For daily driving and some style, I would go 16s myself as well. They already look good at stock height and fill the wheel wells nicely. Shoot for 205/45R16 rubber, and if you don't want any rubbing, make sure you get +45 offset for the wheels or higher.

17s look nice and are tempting, but are just a little too big for our GDs to be practical. Tires get pricey at the 17" diameter too.

If you plan to lower the ride height or go to trackdays some time in the future, I'd recommend lightweight 15s.

thank you type
I just want to go for the look and daily driving. So I guess I will stick with 16. What do you mean by +45 offset? sorry for the stupid question. I have not done anything to the car besides tinted window.

Offset is pretty critical as far as wheel specifications go. It's how far the face is from the center line of the wheel as viewed from the side.

In a nutshell, positive offset means the wheel is tucked into the wheel well. Low or negative offset means the wheel sticks out of the fender.

+45mm offset or higher is basically what you need to avoid rubbing on the rear fenders. Lower-offset wheels will tend to rub on your rear fenders especially when you have passengers or cargo at the back. If you really want the wheels-sticking-out, low-offset look, you could have the fenders rolled...but that's an unnecessary hassle IMO.

Be mindful of wheel width as well. 6.5"-wide or 7"-wide wheels should be just about perfect. 7.5" may be too wide.

For reference I have Rota Circuit 10s, 16x7 +45 offset. Look Ma no rubbing

^ That's a +42mm offset wheel. Click the "Reading the Wheel Size" link

42mm offset can work, but not quite as well as 45mm. You'll have to be particular with tire shoulder shapes to avoid rubbing - you'll want a rounded tire shoulder, and even then rubbing can be hit-or-miss

I would go with 16", but if you decide to go with 17" I would go with a strong light weight wheel.

A shame about the +40 offset, because I really, really like the style. I have a hidden affection for multi-spoke wheels with undercut stripes like this Konig you posted.

The problem with Konig is it seems most of its wheels are +40 offset; they don't offer much with +45. You could probably get away with it if the wheel was 6.5" wide instead of 7".

If you really like this wheel (I certainly do!), maybe you should go for it. Just have the fenders rolled if you get rubbing.

type 100 is right.

I have 16x7 with a +40 offset on 205/45 tires and I rub here and there. honda fit's sweet spot is around +45. also has to do with your tires shoulders. i'm also lowered 2 inches without fenders rolled.

Although it's not bad and does not bug me at all.
