TPMS question

I traded my aftermarket wheels yesterday for a set of 09 Fit sport . I drive a 08 so my question is does the TPMS on the 09 FIT sport rims will disable the light that is currently on. I researched and couldn't find the answer. Thanks in advance.

I believe the tpms sensors have to be programmed to match the car. Your car will be searching for the signal from your old tpms sensors.

recalibration

I bought an additional set of sport wheels with TPMS sensors. Had a slow leak on one tire and used one of my spares thinking everything would be cool. My tpms light went and stayed on. My Honda dealer said that it would be $97 to have my new wheel's TPMS sensors recalibrated for my car. The car has to recognize YOUR wheels and nobody else's.

No, TPMS sensors of the '09 will not disable the light. The '09 sensors I believe are a different design and may not work with the '08 GD3. To have the light disabled you have to either get the sensors recalibrated (like feddup said), install the TPMS sensors that came with your '08 into the '09 rim, or just put black tape over the TPMS light and ignore it.

I am selling the car as we speak so I only wanted it off for the next owner. It didn't bother me before but selling it to somebody is a different story. Thanks for the clarification.
