Kumho Ecsta ASX

It all started last Tuesday. I was driving home from work and as I was turning left from the highway service road to another street, I accidentally hit a curb and not only did it scare the crap out of me, it blew out the left front tire. It blew about a nickel-sized hole in the sidewall.

Of course, it wasn't fun driving around with that compact spare on the front, but it was only on there until the next day, when I went to Discount Tire to buy replacements for the two front tires. Maybe sometime next year, I will go ahead and replace the other two stock tires.

I decided to go with the Kumho Ecsta ASX tires since they were somewhat reasonably priced and I liked the tread pattern. I used TireRack.com to do the research and shopped on DiscountTire.com to see which store had what. My best bet was the Kumhos, and they seemed to be in the middle of the pack in regards to overall performance. Compared to the stock Dunlops, these tires I bought are awesome!

Glad to hear you're happy with them. I'm about due for some new sneakers on my '08 Fit as well. Not sure which way to go. I've always used Dunlops but I may try out another brand.

they have nice response in the dry, but like all kuhmos, they grip significantly less than other tires in the wet.

but better than driving on a spare right?

Congrats on the new tires & rims.

I think these tire will have better wet traction than the Dunlops.
