Need Advice on Wheels

So I've got a friend selling mint 17"(x7?) Dronell Power rims, that I believe are +45mm offset (could be +40mm, but i don't think they are, wouldn't want the rims+tires to sit out that far...), and they look like this:

He's also got 2 different sets of tires for me to choose from:
Bridgestone Potenza 215/40/17
Hercules 205/40/17

And he's selling the set for $800. I did a bit of searching around the forums already to try to get some more knowledge on this whole thing (since I'm a newbie to all this wheel stuff) and while I got some info from some posts, most of the posts seem a bit unclear, probably because I don't know too much about this stuff.

So because of that, I've got some questions that maybe some of you guys can help me out with:

1. How do these look? completely opinion based but I'd like some feedback
2. Are 17's with the +45 offset going to look alright on the fit? I'd like to make it clear that I WON'T be lowering my car anytime soon, and i'm not as anal as some of you guys are about the gap between the wheel and the fender. And with that would be anticipating any real problems?
3. Am I better off with the 205's over the 215's? 215's would give me better handling technically, but even with the +45 offset, they're getting a little wide no?
4. Any of you guys have experience or come across these rims? These are straight from Japan, and I'm just curious if 800 is a good, decent or bad deal. I tried looking the rims up but there's little to no info about them on the web, at least where i looked =/

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Also, if you're going to bash against 17's or wide tires or whatever, please give some practical reasoning to your claim, not just "17's are too big they look dumb" or something like that. Thanks

$800?? Are those supposed to be some lightweight forged super rare rims or something? For that price I'd go with something else or offer him more like $550. I'd go with the 205/40's too.

Solbrothers is right, 215's might cause you to rub a bit. In the end it might even slow you down more because the Fit's little engine will have to power more tread. 205/40'/17s handled great on my last car.

Did a search on Google and this was what I found:
D Power Dronell Wheels, Type C-05, TS-05, TS-06,

The wheels seem to be Dronell D-Power TS05s weighing 18.2 lb. each. If the wheel is 17x7, the only offsets it can have are +40 and +45, the latter of which would be perfect for the GD. If you do plan to buy them you should get 205/40R17 rubber.

Other people are selling them for US$700 with new tires I think, and US$400 for the wheels only. Try bargaining.

As for how they look...they're fine by me. They do look like Work Emotion CR Kais, but that's no bad thing I guess

To the best of my knowledge, these wheels are discontinued and were available BEFORE work emotion came out with their wheels, so if anything work emotion ripped off of them ;p.

Thanks for the input guys

tthe 215's might fit on your car... but just ask your freind to test them

im running 215/45/16 but only thing is i have a really tight suspension setup to prevent my wheels from running..
i know Ben from ajr runs 225's in the front with his fit on his track wheels..

anyways this is gonna be sweet! someone to take pictures with when i move back in a few weeks!

btw i think they'll look good. you should bargin on the price though and then ditch the centre caps and see if you can get some red H centre caps and mod them to fit =p it'll match what your planning to do with the front and back red emblems.

btw everyone hes gotta a crappy GE not a GD lol jkjkjkjk
