Base 2009 Fit - Need rims / wheels upgrade advice
I'd like to get sportier-looking rims than the boring basic ones.
I have about $500 to spend on wheels. I'm thinking 16"-17" rims in black (gun metal).
Any specific suggestions that you know fit perfectly on the 2009 Fit?
P.S. The rims must not make my fit "rub" or worsen its usability. I spent about 2 hours reading through threads but it's all very overwhealming so I'm asking for help more directly.
Thanks!

The wheel/tire combo we've seen here that works best is 16x7 wheels with 42 to 45 mm offset (only 45 if lowered), ans 205/45x16 tires. That has the least, if any, effect on mpg or performanvce.
good luck.
PS 205/40x17 on 17x7 tires of the same offset limits works but will affect mpg and performance more than the 16's.

I thought for 2009 honda fits 17" rims had to be atleast at 50mm offset else they'd stick out or rub. R u sure those numbers are right for 2009's? I know 2009's sizes are different from 2008 from a post title something like "beware 2009 wheels" haha.

I use 17x7 wheels with 42mm offset and 205/40x17 tires for summer cruising. For comp I use 205/50x15 tires on 15x7/42 wheels. For winter I use 175/65x15 snow tires on 15x7/42 wheels. Since my 08 Fit is not lowered I have no rubbing. I do have the Monroe AirLifts shocks in the rear cause sometimes I have to carry heavy people or tools. My front antisway bar is disconnected for more neutral handling. There is no rubbing.
The 09 Fit has more room in the fenders so the combination works great for them, too.
So far we've put aftermarket wheels on a dozen Fits. Those rules have worked for every one of them to not rub. The ones that looked best and worked best are 205/45x16 on 16x7/42 wheels either 08 or 09 Fits. I guess I liked those wheels better cause functionally there's no difference.
However, in either model the offset needs to be 45 mm to 50 mm with 205/50x15 tires if you lower (max1.5"; more than that its out of bounds). If you use 215/55x15 tires those, will rub.

no...the GE's need 17's it only looks right man.
17x7 or 17x7.5 +45 will do.
if you want something cheap that will look good. Rota SVN(re30 replicas) looks GREAT, affordable....if you curb them, its gonne be super cheap to get a whole new rim.
yup.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I liked the last suggestion because it was very specific. It's hard to find rims when they suggest them so there more suggestions the more chances I'll have of finding some on sale! more suggestions welcome. Thanks!
