werent you running wheel adapters at one point? you really do live on the edge when it comes to wheels.

i havent had them on the fit wheels but in the past have used them on other oem honda wheels with no trouble. thew reason you will hear alot of people talking about how it is a total no no is because all oem honda wheels use a ball seat style lug nut, and most if not all aftermarket wheels use tapered style lug nuts. it basically breaks down to, after market lugs dont have as much contact on the actual oem wheel surface because of the different style seat. i would say go for it if yo uare just driving to the groceries and to work but steer clear of this if you run the canyons hard everyday like my self.

here is a picture comparing an oem lug nut (on the left) to a tapered after market lug nut (on the right)

Thanks all.

I forgot to update this before but the auto shop couldnt get the tuner lugs to fit. They are too skinny. So... back to the old ones.

Ive ran 2 sets of adapters. 4x100 to 4x108 and 2 piece 4x100 to 5x114.3.

Does anyone have proof that running aftermarket lugs on OEM wheels will cause problems or the wheel to fall off?
I dont think there is.
The reason why people freak is because the disclaimer some sites add to protect themselves.

Torque down the wheels to specs, and check them per oil change.

yeah i have run aftermarket lugs on my oems for 20k miles. and on my other cars.

i havnt had any problems. besides the one time the stupid tire guys never torque down my lugs so they did come unscrewed after a long canyon run. but thats because they just used an air gun to tighten them.

after i torqued them down to specs i havnt had any problems since.

You are correct, that guy came in and said I need 20 1/2" lug nuts.....the salesman said no problem. Then the RX7 owner said that he was sold the wrong items. He never told them what type of car and even signed an invoice for carry out items with no vehicle information.

OEM lugs

I would like to have blue lug nuts, but I can't find the right kind for the stock wheel. I have an 09 Sport. Any Ideas? Thanks.

I wanted some red lug nuts for my '08 Sport rims, and couldn't believe *no one* made ball seat lugs in any other color than chrome (and black, but you'll pay for OEM).

Found two solutions:

1. These washers that somehow fit onto the 60 degree cones of tuner lugs: Club EP3.com: SpeedStar Lug Nut Taper Conversion Washer Don't know how well this would work, probably okay?

2. UK store has some colors in ball seat for Fits Sprint Wheels Lightweight Alloy wheel nuts x4 OEM Red - eBay (item 190331201450 end time Apr-24-10 04:49:30 PDT) Also has blue, haven't searched around a lot, but this looks like our only option.
