Are 17x7.5's too wide (rubbing) on the fit?
I have come down to a few models that I really like, but am concerned with the size of the wheels. I am looking at the Rota Circuit 10 or the Grid, in a 17in size, but they do not have a 17x6.5 or 7, just the 7.5 in a 45 offset for the Circ 10's and either a 45 or 48 for the grid. Will these be too wide for the Fit with 205/40/17's And what will this do with the speedometer. The tires are supposed to be a +2 size so they should not throw off the speedo, but with them being stretched a bit, I was not sure. Both jlbmotorsports and discount tire show this wheel size as being ok on the Fit, but I would like to hear from the people that own this car. Also would anyone know approx what these wheels weigh?

i own a set exactly specs.
17x7.5 45 offset.
heres the deal.
your gona have to rock 205/40/r17 tires. make sure the tires are round edge not like squared like the rt615 falkens.
um..you will have to do the front fender lining trick. which is just push up on the fender lining, and it will pop into place in in the fender. (search about it)
im tire tucking all 4 wheels and i dont rub at all.
if you take a lot of people around, then i highly suggest rolling your rear fenders or just cut them off like i did.
other then that..you will be fine.

Get +45.... Youll probably need to so slight rolling of the fenders.
Best thing to do it get them on there and test it.
SD_MR_FIT had 17's on his car. And his car is pretty low.
EDIT, there he is. *LAUGHS*

yeah YAy i beat you son!
yeah im super low. but if your stock height you will be fine. and even tein s.techs they wont rubb. if your the only one in the car.
you will notice that it will probably rubb the front clips that hold the fender lining in place. when you turn...because of the wideness of the rim. you you will be fine.
speeds are the same.

with the car braw in the front you shouldnt have any problems.
uh....i do not have any picture. but if you take a look at the rear fenders. you will see a little flange like metal.
since im tire tucking it was a bit tooo close for comfort. so i decided to cut it off. i didnt have too. but that way i could take 5 people in my car and load the trunk with luggage and drive 1k miles up the coast and have ZERO problems heh

These will be a heavy wheel/tire combo and cost you much mpg as well as accelweration.. Why not stick with tried and true 205/(40 or 45) x16 or 17's on 45 mm offset
wheels?

Interesting topic. I'm getting Rays 57 Optimise 17x7.5 with (I think) 43mm Offset on Toyo T1-R. The car is lowered on TEIN s.tech springs. I still have hope that there won't be much rubbing. My shop said we may crimp the fender and it will be fine.

Yes, it will rub hard. The 17x7.5/48 wheels move the wheel rim out 2" from stock. The most we found would work is 17x7/42 which pushes out 1.8". the 45's would be worse.
NOTE THATS ON AN 08. NONE OF THIS APPLIES TO 09's; they will need a whole new wheel 17x7 or 16x7 with 50 mm offset and max 205/40 or 45 tires and thats not real certain at this point. It is enough to know your 08 aftermarket wheels/tires wont fit.

as for 07's i run 17x7.5 +45 no rubbing either. I use t1r springs. for over 2 years now ive been perfectly fine.

What fact do you have that says 09's will run low offsets?
The one we measured had only one-half-inch to spare. Putting a 7.5" rim with 45 mm offset means the wheel rim will push outward over 1.13" from stock. A 205 tire would make it worse. Are you running a small tire?
On your 07 the 17x7.5 may work but what tire are you running? 205's on 17x7.5/45 was not quite clear on the one we tried.

look at the 09 i posted. i was a 35 offset. i can post others that are wider and lower.
