No TPMS light?

We got our new rims and wheels from Wheelfire (HP 168 Hyperblack and Falken 912). They look sweet. Swapped the tires out last night and NO TPMS LIGHT. Drove to dinner and back. Drove to work this morning. Nothing.

Happy there was no light but the curiousity was killing me. Called Wheelfire and they're stumped. Only thing he could think of is that the original system was not operational.

Definitely don't want the annoying light but should I be worried or just count my blessings?

2008 just picked it up last week. No sensors swapped out. Tires arrived in boxes. We changed them. Nothing more.

sometimes it takes a bit of driving before the car realizes the sensors are gone altogether and then the TPMS light turns on.

It's supposed to accurately monitor your tire pressure "for safety" and yet the entire WHEEL could fall off and it takes a few days to notice?? HAHAHAH

I think its if you drive over 20 miles with out shutting off the car it will turn on the TPMS lights. The light is realy not that annoying, It doesn't flash or ding at you at all, it just sits there minding its own business.

that is kinda weird it would take time to not know the sensors are there. So if that were the case, a sensor could fail, you could get a flat, and it might not warn you? Makes no sense.

the cars computer probably doesnt have any parameters set for a loss of all 4 sensors... so it could take several driving cycles before the car simply figures out that the sensors are gone and turns on the light. just my thoughts

Bingo! Took her for a long ride this evening and it went on after 25 miles. I still find it amusing, though. Wheelfire hadn't heard of anything of the like.

So the way around this is to just drive 20 miles, shut the car off, drive 20 miles again, etc! Perfect lol!
