TPMS for new wheels?
I'm looking at new wheels and I don't know if I should buy new TPMS sensors for the new wheels or not. Its about a $500.00 difference if I get them or not, with is pretty big. My question is IF I do get new sensors is there any thing I need to do to get them to work with the car, like have them calibrated or can I just put the wheels on and the car will recognize the sensors?

this seemed to be a very helpfull thread (some conflicting info but it seemed really usefull)
so yeah it needs to be reprogramed at the dealer from what I could gather, or take out the light that shines so it doesnt bother you.
I would say skip it as $500 is wickedly high
oh and good luck and keep us posted with what happens (or what you had to do)
and deff try a search, as this has been covered ad nauseam ...hahaaaa

Are you wanting them for your own peace of mind, or to keep the dash light from going off? I've been running on my autoX wheels for a week now as I test a different tire size, and the TPMS light has not gone off yet. I keep the stock tires in the garage about 20' from where i park the car at night, but even when I park for work, it doesn't seem to trigger the code.
If the new wheels will be your primary wheels, is it possible to put the stock sensors in those wheels?
