Will this fit on the Fit?

Im looking into getting a FIT soon. I have 17x8.5 white volk te37 from my DC2 Integra. im very curious to see if I can squeeze such wide tires under the FIT. Stock height. no lowering. Will it rub? Say in hard cornering?

thanks

I think 8.5 on the fit might be too wide, I have no evidence to back this up though. the biggest wheels I've run where 17x7.5 and had rubbing up front because im dropped on springs.

moving from 6 inch wide wheels to 7.5 inch wheels also made it a bit more effort to turn the car which i didn't like at all. i bet you'd really have to muscle the 8.5's around

a question ive always wanted answered was since our cars have power steering does putting wider wheels on a car put extra stress on the power steering system and have a chance of breaking it?

im not sure about the offest. But I have extended lugs just sitting. I could throw those on and use a spacer? would that work then?

with spacers the tire will stick out further than the fender. you will rub.

spacers will just make it worse and on top of that its just too heavy and feels gross. i have a 17x7 with a 25 offset and just daily driving you can feel how heavy the wheels are

uh mine are forged aluminum Volk racing TE37. they only weigh like 13-14 lbs.

so heavy is not a concern for me. granted a smaller wheel of the same type would be lighter, no doubt. but when talking about 17s these do not really fall into your normal big and heavy category.

yes and no.

Honda-Tech.com: Honda Fit: 17x8 +40 Work Wheels

That guy put on:

Specs: Work Termist TM-1 Reloaded
Sizes: 17x8 +40
Color: Crystal Silver
Tires are: Nitto NT555 225/40

the rear tires are 205/40

I asked if he rubs and he said only in the rear on the outside.

which i thought was strange as with stock ride height he rubs with 205s. but the 225 in the front dont rub? plus he wants to lower the car and finish putting 225s in the rear.

So given this information I think with a little fender flare I can fit my 225/40/17 volk TE37 17x8.5. as I do not plan on lowering the car.

Ok I put on my TE37 17x7.5 with 215/40.. rubs on fast turns and full load. I road around by myself doing complete turns and no rub.

Afraid to lower the car but it looks like a freakin monster truck now :[

No pics yet, gonna wash and take some tomorrow. As for the rubbing--I can't tell where its coming from cause it was from hitting a bump with 2 people up front and my stock sport wheels in the back. No rubbing when I rode in full circles with just me in the car

Edit: On stock suspension. Looking for some stiff springs with no more than 1.5in drop. Leaning towards GF210 or Swift

I love te37 in white but i had to settle for bronze. Maybe ill powder coat them in the future!

oh so maybe it was jsut bottoming out against the fender liner then. Yeah 17's dont look bad. not truck wheels haha. what color is your Fit? I love broze but my gf hates anything gold colored. So no bronze for me. I want to powder coat mine to look like timeattacks. the black with red trim. I have the center caps too (not the ones you see in the pic above)

The front sticks out a bit further than the back cause of the brakes. Not sure if rolling fenders would even help.

My car is red btw

the offset is cruicial, a half inch difference is a lot without the known offset.

i suggest you take the wheel off, read the back off the wheel, it should be stamped right behind the spokes.
