Wider tires on stock sport wheels?
I've asked this before, but nobody had done it. Has anyone put wider tires on the stock Sport wheels? Basically, I want to know what kind of clearance and look there is with, say, a 205/50 tire. I may just have to step up and do it myself just to know. Anyone?
Thanks,
Mike

i would also like to know this same thing
since the car is only 109 hp would wider tires make the car slower???
e.g. too much grip not enough slip???
so would 205 be too much for the car to handle or is 195 perfect

I guess technically, a 205 is more rolling resistance and could make the car slower. Honestly, you wouldn't notice the 10mm. What you might notice, though, is the shorter diameter of a 205/50 versus stock. Again, it's so small that most people would not notice that either.
I'm more interested to know because there are some really great tires in a 205/50 size and I would want to make sure they fit before making a purchase.

Exactly the setup I'm considering. Do you have pics?

Yeah, I have a set of Enkei RP-F1 wheels in a 15x7 +41 size that would look about like that. But they are on my other car, and I would like to keep them there. I know there wouldn't be inner fender issues with an aftermarket wheel; I'm curious if there would be with a stock wheel and a bit of a drop.
I still like your Grams better.
