More efficient with open exhaust, but that things looks highly promising, and extremely efficient! It's ARC though, anything they come up with will be a little pricey, but worth every penny!

I don't know how i missed this thread for so long. I have been wanting an ARC box since i first seen one on a jazz. I NEED THIS. Unless it just ends up being rediculously expensive, then i guess i'll just go ahead and get the J's chamber/CAI intake instead.

Being all metal won't it end up being a heat sink once it gets hot????? Just wondering before spending big bucks$$$$$

you could always insulate it. like spoon has heat barrier tape and i know tons of other companies make similar products. get some form of adhesive heat barrier and cover the side of the intake that faces the engine and other heat producing parts.

that would raise a good question, but being the lower part is only close to the engine, and it has that flat deflector in front of the filter it shouldn't get too warm as long as the car's not just idling a lot. When moving it should cool pretty easily. plus that HUGE filter moves a LOT of cool air through it I'm sure. Least we hope...

dont forget that it is also right behind the radiator which isnt exactly a cool spot.
darn you 5MT guys. auto fits have the intake in the worst place right out of the factory. on the right side we have the engine, in the front we have the radiator and in that whole space right under the intake we have the tranny.
