DIY: GD Rear Disc Brake Conversion

Rear brake conversion
How come you say not to use Type R rear calipers, pads and rotors when the both the Type R and none Type R have the same 4 lug nut rotor?
Because i can only find the Type R (GSR) ones for sale https://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/d...sc-conversion/
and all the none Type R ones i have found are way to expensive like $300 AUD a caliper.
Thanks Branko21

Hi, a couple of q's...
-What is the difference in size between those mini and oem disc diameter?
-Do the caliper bracket from the 14' accord has to be used(i suppose) or do the caliper fit on the oem fit caliper bracket...?
-Did you upgraded the brake lines, if so, which did you used?
-Did you upgraded the brake master cylinder also?

Front brake upgrade
Hello there
the oem rotor is 10”
the Mini Cooper is 11.5”
the accord caliper and bracket must be us
or you can use a 05 Acura TL bade model
the Fit caliper and bracket are to small
I’m still running the oem hoses and the oem masters cylinder the brake pedal feels great but the stopping power is great the the oem bbk let me know if you need more information

If you have a GD, I'd be cautious... because I haven't seen the kits for GKs used on GDs or GEs, so it might not work.

So... why did you post a GK brake swap, that doesn't work on a GD... in a GD thread?

Using the inside of the rotor as a drum is a tidy design. I'd be most concerned about sourcing proprietary replacement parts from a small business in Taiwan. Aside from emailing them for a transaction, they don't have a sales channel.on their website and on a quick internet search, they seem.to lack a substantial distribution channel.

I see
You have to take a chance I did and I think it was worth it the e brake thing I get it but I have a 05 Acura TL type s and is the same setup and on the Nissan g35 and g37 is also the same thing the e brake is in the inside of the rotor.
The parts look of good quality the rotor you don’t have to worry about for a couple of years,in the Acura I had it since day one for 14 year and I have not need to change the e brake shoes
the bigger rotor on the back is great and if you do the front with the Mini Cooper rotos the is we’re the money is at you car will have great stopping power
