Need opinions on what to do with T1R S-dampers

I have the Eibach pro-kit springs on my GD3 and love the drop and decided to install the T1R S-dampers with them. After talking with the guys at AJR(awesome customer service!) about some suspension noise issues it was determined that the setting on the dampers was too low and should be set to about 7 or 8 for my springs due to the fact that they are a stiffer spring. Well after driving my car around for a week with this setting i am realizing that its much to stiff for me on the wonderfully ruff new england roads that i live on

So now i have come to a dilemma...either keep the springs and get different strut/shocks or keep the dampers and get different springs? Problem is i love the drop of the eibach, its perfect for what i want. So basically i looking to see what you guys think.

why would a low setting cause noise?

The guy i spoke to said something along the lines of my springs are too stiff for the low settings. I can not remember exactly what he said but i think it was along the lines of the strut could not react quick enough or something. I really wish i could remember what he said

i dont see how lower settings would cause noise.

even though they were not designed for your specific springs, putting on dampers that are better suited to aftermarket springs than the stock ones are should not equal that type of problem.

The Pro-kit rates are pretty soft compare to other springs so don't know how the T1R dampeners would have problem with them.

I dont see how the lower setting would cause noise. But I dont want to think negative about aj either, The guy said the noise would go away when i turn up the setting, which it did. But right now i have a suspension i'm not happy with and less money in my pocket.

now skunk 2's springs are rather stiff...i can see their argument holding a bit more weight if this was the setup he was running.

but to discourage the lower setting? hmmm i dunno. initally that was what turned folks on to these dampers: their ability to soften the ride, but still improve handling.

does your car handle terrible? why do you want such a stiff set up?

you could just run your dampers on the highest setting....even with a soft spring, i dunno how your ass tolerates it. the fit is not exactly a smooth sailor.

i have a question, do you tighten the strut tower nut all the way until you wont see any gap under the rubber thingy? i have T1R dampers + skunk2 setup i have to stay with the 3rd and 5 on rear youll feel small bumps it youre not gonna like it lol.
