Progress auto

I was looking for the coilover from Progress last night.
I've found this:

part number: 75.1060

I was looking for the spring rate so i email the info of progressauto.com.

And... They answer me they are not doing coilover and will not do it for honda fit?

WTF? I've found the part number in the progress catalog, i've the picture but they are not making them? Wow! Someone dont know his job and his products.

It's probably not necessary to call us stupid, but we'll let it slide. At one time there were plans to produce a Fit coil-over kit but because there wasn't much of a demand for the kits, we decided to hold off on any production runs. There are a couple kits out there that were built for development and did great but if no one is going to buy them, we're not going to make them.

If you already got the answer straight from the source, it's probably right. If you guys want to prove there is demand for this kit, then shoot us an email at info@progressauto.com.

This is my initial email:

Hi!
I've see on the net you're making coilover for my honda fit.
Its for my daily driver and week end lapper, do you think this setup will be okay for me?
I've Sanair at 5 min of my home!
Is it possible to know the spring rate too?
The part number are: 75.1060

Thanks a lot!

Carl Borduas
I've ask 2 questions and i've received 1 answer, but not the good one.

+ i gave you the right part number!

I think you're missing the point. The retailer doesn't have the parts because we never made them. The only people that have those kits are the select few who were testing the prototypes.

Our catalog was made for SEMA in 2006, when we still planned on offering them. Call the shops that are "offering" these kits and see how many they have in stock. I'm not going to argue with you anymore about this. I have no reason to lie to you; I would love to sell 25+ of these kits but the demand dropped off. End of story.

They probably just copy down whatever catalog information there is, post it up online and wait for some credit-card happy buyer to pull the trigger... then they place an order to Progress (for dealer price), mark it up to the MRSP and laugh as they take your money.

Better to order dealer direct and just work out a deal on the phone

In this case if you place an oder to one of these web sites, they will take your money for a few months and tell you it is backordered... eventually after you complain enough they will refund you the money. So basically going that route will just leave you with a broken spirit & 6 or 7 months of interest on your credit card

OK, what the guy said is if he could sell 25 units, he would pursue getting this coil-over kit on the market. How many thousand Fit owners are on this site. Surely someone is interested enough to put together a group buy. I'm interested in some suspension bits down the line and a coil over could be an avenue to pursue versus a set of sport springs. My thing is that I'm not looking for an "in the weeds" drop. My last Civic I had H&R OEM Sport springs which were perfect for me. A very mild drop and with the new Tokico shocks the car rode well and handled like a slot car.

So take the lead out there and get together a list of interested parties, interested and committed.
