ADJUSTABLE coil springs (not coilovers) What?

eBay adjustable coil springs 1"-4" drop

Can someone shed some light on this? I can't imagine this would be safe/practical, etc? Seems like the perch adjustment brackets are just going to stress out factory parts? I've never heard of this until now when I was searching for coilovers for fun.

Guess it basically turns the stock shocks/struts into coilovers...

those are essentially 'coil overs.' just not with the damper.

Just to be clear, our cars come with coilovers. The suspension up front is a coil over strut design. The practice of using coilover to refer to fully adjustable (racing) coilovers is kind of really confusing, and I personally don't like it. I can't necessarily comment on the quality or safety of those coils with adjustable sleeves. They're probably a bit harsh though.

Thanks for clearing up the coil over misnomer. So, would adjustable coilover suspension vs. factory/non-adjustable coilover suspension be more accurate?
I too agree this is probably cheaply made and will ride harsh, quality will be compromised, etc. But maybe if a more reputable company put some R&D into it, and could design a similar kit, then we'd have a lot more options for customizing coilovers, like say take skunk2 springs, a good quality version of these adjustable mounts/perches, and tokico d-specs...
I don't always like to have a complete one name brand kit, you know, since maybe you can get the best of each all together. But I'm no expert on suspension, I just like the idea of being able to adjust my ride height to suit my needs. And slamming it every once in a while would be fun.

I was wondering the same thing about those. I used them from skunk 2 back in the day on my integra. They worked great on stock struts/shocks and even better on the koni's. I was wondering if skunk 2 were going to make them for the fit or even just thier springs for the 09' fo that matter.

Those will give you the harshest ride you could ever imagine, not only that but they will blow pretty much any strut you put them on due to their poor design. They aren't designed with anything in particular in mind other than ride height adjustability.
