Been out the loop for a while due to this and that, but was wondering what Coilover i should go for, which is under £550/$1000? (for comfort and drop)

If you could list what you think and where to get it from, i'd be much appreciated. (Even better if they ship internationally as i am based in the UK, therefore the coilovers must be compatable with the UK spec Honda Jazz/Fit).

I have thought about these 2, but unsure:

Tein Basic Damper
KSport Coilovers

Wouldn't mind the Skunk2 Pro-C but at ~$1600, its out my comfort zone.

EDIT: Don't know whether this will make much of a difference, but currently have 15" alloys which i'll soon be upgrading to 17" Gramlight 57S Pro Titaniums

i have the tein basic damper kit and i am very happy with it. although if i was getting full coilovers, id probably go with the T1R. but those are in the same price range as the skunk2's. for you, i would recommend the teins.

 

Id save up the money a little. Spending about $1000 for so so coilovers while you can save up a little more for the better end. I was thinking about the ksport but they are a little iffy. I'd go for t1r or skunk2

depends on the application, but if your car is like mine (daily driver) and
some spirited driving on the weekends, i think you'll like the EnduraTechs
for that $899 including shipping deal going on. it's been fanastic on my
car.

if your car's more like a track car i think the skunk2 ProC's are wat you
might be looking for. i dont have firsthand experience so dont know for
sure. you can get them on ebay for like $1100.

What about the Tanabe Coilovers? are their any which fit he Honda?

 

ask atticusfit. he works for Rage Auto, they give skunk2 coilovers for a great deal.

 

look into BC racing BR+ series. They are around 1000. They make coilovers for cars mainly sti's+evo's. I ordered mine last week and it should be here next week. i am getting them to replace the t1r's. they are comparible to tein flex's level of coilovers.

 

Whats the minimum drop on that coilover setup? I am looking for something to firm up the suspension a bit, but still be something I want to sit in for a long trip. Basically I want to stop some of the body roll that the car undergoes around corners when I have my bike on the roof. But I also need to keep it high enough off the ground so when I am driving to a ski resort in the winter and the roads are covered in snow, my fit doesnt turn into a snow plow.

Are the prices that much higher for Tein in the UK? As compared to the US and having them shipped to you plus pay the VAT?

 

The ideal set up of the Endura-Tech coilovers out of the box will leave you with a front reduction in height of 1.8" and the rear (which you adjust yourself according to the diagram in the instructions) will result in a 1.3" drop. For the winter you could easily increase the heights back to stock or slightly less if you didn't want to plow snow, not that you would with the set up out of the box, but to play it safe you could adjust them for a higher ride height. Hope this helps.
Oh and as far as minimum drop, that really is at your discretion when setting them up. But out of the box they are prearranged to meet the above specs.

 

That is true... UK prices are ridiculous to be honest... plus we have to pay taxes etc

Tein Coilovers here start from 550 including VAT... and thats for the Basic Damper kit.

Other than that, there isn't much else in the way for a Jazz.

I know that Honda Jazz/Fits have not gone mainsteam in the UK yet... i mainly see old fogeys driving them at the moment.

Other than suspension, the only components for the Jazz are european styled bodykits which looks damn fugly, Black Diamond Disc Brakes and a few components from Js-Racing.

In the mean time, it looks as if, everything i want for this car, would have to be imported over from either Japan or the US.


Back to suspension wise, i'd say Tein are cheaper here than having them from US shipped together with customs charge, but i wouldn't mind any other decent makes around.

Awesome thanks for the useful Info, it's much appreciated since I am very new to modifying a car. I also need make sure that I have enough ground clearance to make some turns onto several roads that go from being level to pretty steep without smooth transitions, so I need to keep from bottoming the car out as well as best I can.

After a bit of thinking and talking to a friend who is the owner of an Import company, i have decided to opt for the Skunk2 Pro-C coilvers, at a good price.

But thanks for the input as, it gave me a bit more insight on what i'm looking for.
