as far as your other question...
you'd get your lowering springs + D-specs, or just use stock springs +
D-Specs. your choice. the ride height depends on the lowering spring
you buy.

the d-specs are the same length as stock.
you seem to have the most experience with endura tech being on their site and all...so for the 100th time can you please talk about them as far as the technical specs go lol sorry man

so the d specs are not height adjustable but they have the dampening ability?

the d-specs are just the strut/shock only. not full coilovers. the height of the car will not change by using the d-specs. you can put on different springs if you want to be lower, but if you want adjustable height, the only way to do that is with full coilovers or coilover springs like ground controls.

i contacted tokico as well and it appears its the HTS not the D spec....

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Tokico Performance Shocks. The plan is to have the HTS series available by late October (not D-spec), in time for the SEMA show in Vegas. It will be available to you either in Oct or Nov. This is an advanced damping and rebound adjustable shock. The adjustments are easily made from the top of the shock towers, under the hood and from the trunk. The dial can be adjusted 7 full turns, stopping anywhere you see fit. Full stiff for track mode, or tone it down for daily use. What do you use your Fit for, daily driver, auto-x, etc? Feel free to contact use if you have any specific questions.

Thanks,
David

Is He saying the adjustment knob is just for rebound? All of the tokicos I've had adjust both rebund and compression at the same time. If they're rebound only that would be nice.

well, not necessarily...for street running progressive rate springs you
sometimes want simultaneous adjustment (bound and rebound)
to set your damp rate for compression to keep the car from getting that
loose, freeplay/floating feel until the spring rates come up as it
compresses.

if the bound rate is high enough on rebound-only dampers it would
work, but you never know until you try it... it could also be too stiff
from the getgo.

also, if you run linear rate springs it's easier to adjust using just
rebound...given that the damp rate is within the working range of
the spring.

there are 4 types of dampers (examples):

1. Fixed bound and fixed rebound (stock)
2. Simultaneous bound and rebound adjustable (D-Specs)
3. Fixed bound and rebound adjustable (like Koni's)
4. Adjustable bound and adjustable rebound (high-end coilover dampers)

ahh... gotcha.

The ET's are 5kg/3kg (Front/rear) spring rate, adjustable height-only.
Dampers are fixed but matched well for these springs and daily driving.
Height can be adjusted from taller than stock to -3" front -2" rear.
comes with all hardware needed including new endlinks for the front
swaybar, new nuts, spring seat tool, etc.

The front struts are true coilovers with ajustable preload and a
separate height adjustable housing...so you can change heights
WITHOUT altering spring preload.

Very easy to install, comes with step-by-step instructions with
clear pictures. probably one of the best instructions out there
including torque specs.

D-Spec vs. HTS

I could not figure out the difference between the D-Spec and the HTS from the catalog. Here is the answer I got from Tokico.

Thank you for contacting Tokico Performance Shocks. You are correct, the HTS will be available in a few months! Here's the story on the HTS/D-Spec... Yes, they are basically the same in technology, and range in adjustability. Originally, the idea was the separate the Domestic apps from the Imports. But as time went on, not all applications followed that rule, and now it has become mixed. Eventually, we will change everything over to the HTS name. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

So,what do you use your Fit for? Daily driving, or more?

David

when Hitachi bought Tokico the naming system became kind of mixed up.

I believe the H in the HTC means Hitachi... not sure wat the T and C
stands for.

Hitachi Traction Control
Hitachi Touring Car
Hitachi TeChnology
Hitachi Therapy and Creme

Tagged for interest. I think the HTS shocks may be in my future next spring if I can get the cash together...
