that mated to stock shocks/struts wouldn't be any better than lowering springs. to do it right, you'd pay the same, if not more, than full coilovers

the benifit comes in when you get a pair of aftermarket shocks and struts with adjustible damping and you have a custom tailored coilover set up that you can replace the shocks and struts when they wareout.

$429 from ground controls.. and yeah its just springs but it gives you hieght adjustability which is a + is your trying to tweak your look, that and sometimes all sides are not even so you can adjust accordingly.. i might consider getting a set of these or if they will sell them individually maybe just get a set for the front.. is kinda expensive though considering it doesn't include struts.. blah

if you want these for the look this is not the set for you.
if you look at the picture the springs are eibach ida race springs if you want to lower your car for the look Eibach also makes just lowering springs.
GC sells a lot of kits to people that just want that look but their true intent on their set up is for preformance.
That was from the owners mouth.

GC sells a kit made strictly for appearance? didn't know that.. i also mentioned that sometimes the ride hieghts are uneven and that was a good reason to get the sleever over... so you can correct individual sides of the car.. i can't see these as being high performance considering they are just sleeve over to be used with our stock struts.. maybe a full coilover setup would be perfomance driven.. but not sleeveover

yah, imaging that + yellows..which will be at least another 500.

ive heard great things about those coils but then again you're
already in coilover territory...might as well get the set with the
springs, collars, and dampers all from the same manufacturer
built as a system. buying different parts might be the way to
go for the experienced, but you sure better know wat you're doing.
it can be great or it will fail miserably.

although tein's system tends to suck at times... need to be
real careful when buying their kits. they offer several spring
rates.

my G's system is an accumulation of different manufacturers.
it turned out great, but it did take a lot of calculation and
experiment.

what if we used the GC sleeve over threading and say some swift springs? I wonder how that would work out? whats the difference between the springs that come with the sleeve over and any other set of springs, its not like they can have multiple spring rates?

those g/c springs are usually a lot shorter than a full sized lowering spring.

yah, but those springs are already sitting on the spring seats so the
length is not equivalent to the stock springs.

x2 These are not meant to be thrown on stock shocks. They are meant to be ordered with custom rate springs and to be put on shocks like the yellows or spss's. OTC koni/gc will be better then OTC name brand coilovers for the most part(thus justifying the cost) However like someone said, this kind of setup takes some experience and a lot of time and experimenting with to make it just right.

does koni make yellows for the fit? last i heard no..

this setup is what i had on my CRX. If i could get it for my fit i would.. but just collars and springs.. no.

with the yellows this is a great setup. not a big fan of lowering. when i had this on my CRX it only ended up lowering it less than 1 inch. but the suspension was great.
