if you're certain that your spring orientation is correct might want
to add some spiral cable wraps over every other coil that are closer
together. you can get some at radioshack.
if it's metal to metal noise, you might be experiencing spring chatter
over moderate sized bumps.
RadioShack.com - Cables, Parts & Connectors: Wire & cable management: Wire ties & wraps: 10-Ft. 3/8" Spiral Cable Wrap

Haven't seen your app but many others. Here's what we've learned to look for:
1. clunking is often the coil springs rotating on the shock strut. Check to see if your spring is truly seated in the bottom coil seat. If there is ANY clearance at all the spring is banging the stop on the seat as it compresses and rebounds. When we install springs we always insure that the spring is 'wound' tight against the stop when the uppere seat is installed. To verify if you can see or feel clearance put a thin strip of hard rubber or shim between the spring end and seat stop and see if it reduces the clunking. No it won't last long.
2. The Fit suspension has somecomponents that are in close proximity, notably the antisway bar. We've had luck putting tygon tubing around the bar where its close to the arms, And we have found an antisway bar bracket that was nottightened securely around the bar. Yeah, more tygon tubing. (easily obtained at local Lowes.)
Good luck.
