C Pillar Bar
#3
hmmm maybe. with a c pillar bar, i'm not losing any space... i'll never stack anything that high... but i just want to know if its worth it. i do plan to get a swaybar though.

just got mine and it is 1st class workmanship, will have review and pix up soon waiting for Honda pinch bolts to get extra camber and do an alignment an install t1r lower arm bar 1st, then I'll put in the c-pillar bar to see how much of a difference it makes (read the thread on t1r lower arm bar) as for the naysayers to each their own but if bmw makes their carbon front strutbar it has to be doing something

From personal experience, I'd say that the C-pillar bar makes out of other strut bars the biggest difference. The one I have is the J's, and it is very sturdy. It provides the needed support for our flexible c section. At high speeds, the usual chassis vibrations are much dimmed.

yeah, totally the placebo effect. strutbars do NOTHING! the progress rear swaybar will actually make a VERY noticable difference in the handling characteristics.
i bought a j's racing rear upper strutbar. and i can honestly tell you it did NOTHING but make it harder to load bigger items in the trunk LOL

even with a flex point. having something is better than having nothing. i have the b-max c-pillar bar and i have the tanabe rear upper strut bar.both have flex points. i took them both out for one day and drove around and i had twice the body roll and my rear end didnt want to stay put during hard cornering. they do work but it really is all or nothing. like, say you are reinforcing your chassis, if you weld supports on half the weak points, it wont do much. but when you weld every single weak point, your chassis becomes a solid member.

just because you have one strut bar doesnt mean its going to make a difference. the reason they are all made is to be worked with together, so of course if you buy a strut bar your going to think its a waste of money because you dont have another of the other bars

im sorry guys, ive been kidding this whole time. i have a jungle gym in my car, and it handles like a dream. *rolls eyes*

the tanabe rear strut bar connects to the top of the coilover. during hard cornering, the coilovers flex and pull back and fourth. the upper strut bar is the same idea as the progress rear sway bar but the rear sway bar has more of an effect in cornering because the coilovers flex like a pendulum. and with a pendulum effect, there is more motion at the bottom than on the top.if someone made a solid rear strut bar, i would buy it in a heartbeat

I would post pics of my set-up but then I would have to get a patent on it because it is all made by me. I am now in the process of trying to make a 3point front strut bar, but I am having a tough time finding a spot on the firewall.
