SPOON Sport 4 Pot Mono-Block Caliper

SPOON Sport 4 Pot Mono-Block Caliper
Hi!,
I got a Spoon 4 pot mono-block caliper from a friend who was previously driving a DC5.
My Question:
I'm driving a JDM 1.3 Honda Fit w/ L13A engine. Running on a set of Spoon 15" wheel w/ BC coilover.
I like my current wheel very much so is there anyone here is running on Spoon 15' wheel + Spoon Mono-block.
Was wondering if the caliper be able to clear this 15' rim and what is the max diamension disc to clear? 282mm?

Chris,
Monoblock calipers won't work for the Fit.
You need the twin block calipers.
Call us. 650 952 1900.
We have strut bar for the Fit. Brake pads etc...
Ask for Edmun
PS. Call me on Thursday. Friday we are racing at Infineon.
But anyway i'll be heading down locally to get the caliper fix onto my ride tomorrow and at the same time to do a rear disc convertation. Will Show you guys the photos once it is ready. Monoblock calipers won't work for the Fit.

I'm using a VTTR 286mm disc.
Please enjoy.

What disk are you using? (what car?)
would you like to explain what type of spacers and where? THink a 2pcs rotor would fit? I'd love to use that rotor size and even get a 2pcs in there saving potentially even more weight.
what is the difference in weight from that caliper to our stock calipers?

As for caliper bracket... strange enuff i'm using a Original Spoon Sport Bracket but it is meant for DC5. I've to add additional 7mm bushing to space out the bracket if not the disc won't fit. (again the bushing length have to depend on the disc you're using, different disc different offset.)
Basically additional stuffs i need to fix the mono-block caliper is:-
02 x 7mm bushing (to space out the Spoon Caliper Bracket from the knuckle)
02 x 5mm bushing/washer (to space out the Spoon Caliper from the Spoon Caliper Bracket - Depend on the diamension of the disc you're using, the larger the disc, the thicker the bushing/washer.)
1 set of Honda Civic wheel stud (this is to compensate the lost of srew tread of the stud when adding wheel spacer)
1 x 8mm wheel spacer (this is also have to depend on the type of rim you're using, different rim have different offset.)

The calipers he has are the Monoblock calipers, much more expensive than the twin-block calipers used on EG/EK/DC2's
To put twin-block calipers onto a Fit, call Opak Racing, they can supply you with everything you need, basically, you can bolt the caliper on with no problem, but you need to run a custom offset rotor, which they offer, then it's just bolt on affair

Here's some info for Spoon twinblocks fitting onto the USDM Fit. You will need the following :
- Spoon Twinblock calipers
- any pads that fits Integra Type-R will fit with the Spoon twinblock calipers
- 282mm rotors **You can use 92-96 Prelude VTEC rotors 4H114 redrilled to 4H100 to fit**
- 3mm under rotors spacers will be needed to center the rotors to the calipers
There will be some issues running the Monoblock calipers (reverse type) with the Fit. The piston should be compressed from smaller piston then to the bigger piston according which side the caliper sit to the rotor. If you use the MONOBLOCK, the bigger piston will be compress first then to the smaller piston then this will seriously affect intial and mid speed braking.
If you want to go MONOBLOCKs you will need to get the ones which are the FORWARD Type from Spoon.

DONE! Managed to get it up even using the original Spoon Sport Caliper Bracket for DC5. Just need to add 4 customed bushing. Can consider it as a direct bolt on. But need to change the wheel studs and add spacer.

Please enjoy.
