Enkei RPF1 for street use?

Anyone know how the Enkei RPF1 wheels are? I want to get these since they are so light and are fairly affordable... sorta speak lol.

I know these wheels are light (9.5lbs) and I want to run them on my Fit on the street but I noticed that they are on the Enkei website as "RACE" wheels...

I wouldn't see a problem in running them...I would ASSUME that the "race use" means that they are not DOT approved for some odd reason but you're in Canada so, I don't know how that holds for you up there.

Almost all aftermarket performance parts are labeled "race use only" for emissions and etc...So I would think the wheels may not be recognized as approved by your sanctioning body.

they are considered "RACE WHEELS" because they are not cheap cast wheels and are part of the "race" line from enkei. they are high quality forged wheels which were designed for a race car.

pretty much to sum it up, these wheels will stand up to any abuse you throw at them, short of running over a curb at 60MPH. they are perfectly fine as a street wheel.

if you equip them on your car, most insurance companies allow up to 2K in accessories/aftermarket parts for you to claim if you total your car, but it also raises your rates. if you were worried about them refusing your claim if you have aftermarket wheels, you should call them. in theory the aftermarket wheels should have no affect on the performance of your car. i just wouldnt blame them if you get in an accident.

Only thing I can see the insurance company having a stink about is removing the factory airbags. But never know there all crooked.

I had a set of gold 17x8 rpf-1s on my old WRX. I <3 those wheels. Very nice looking (imo) and super light weight. You won't have any problems running them on the street.

Does anyone know if they will have enough offset to work with the Fit on stock 195/55R15 tires?

The offset is +41mm... and I am lowered with Tein springs, but I might be switching to Tanabe GF210s soon.

Speaking of insurance, I have USAA auto insurance, and I haven't found them crooked at all. They've been great.

Yes they work

I have the 17x7 +43 SBCs with 205/40 BFG and no rubbing with Skunk2 springs. I even have a full size RPF1 as a spare in the trunk.
