My '08 BOM AD-Ons

**05/20/08 - Just added before/after pics of the LED interior light from ALEXFREE05. Big difference!

Thought I'd post some pics of my wife's new BOM Fit ad-ons.
We added the following:

BOM Interior Trim
Leather interior
Heated Seats
Console Arm Rest
Door Sill Plates
Auto Starter
Side Mouldings
Window Tint
Venture Shield Clear Bra
Tow Hitch ( With obligatory "fish" symbol...I wanted to get the Darwin one with the little feet!)
Fit LED 3rd brake light

--------------------------------------------------------
BOM Trim pieces - We could not find anyone selling trim in BOM so had the dealer shop paint them. They match the exterior perfectly.

----------------------------------------------------
Leather interior -
She did not like the basic interior so we had Katskinz leather( many of the dealers use them directly ) interior and door panel trim installed by a local custom shop. The orange does not really match the BOM but I think it still looks 1000% better than the original interior. You'll either love it or hate it!

Name: BackSeat.jpg
Views: 53
Size: 44.0 KB

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Heated Seats - Why not? We were already having the alpostery stripped for the leather and hey, It get's pretty cold in Missouri some times. The controls look like they are OEM.
**Note they would not install the back rest heat pad in the front passenger seat b/c per Honda the electronics signal could interfere w/ the air bag sensor somehow!

Size: 79.7 KB

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Console Arm Rest - It's just cheap of Honda not to add this as standard.
Easy install, just 3 screws and it's solid/comfy. It has a deep well and a retractable cup holder in back to replace the one it takes up.

Door sill plates just because they look cool.

Name: DoorRunner.jpg
Views: 54

------------------------------------------------------------------
Auto Starter - Again, cold & ice in MO.
Nice gadget and remote is pretty tiny.

Name: AutoStarter.jpg
Views: 67
Size: 50.6 KB

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Side mouldings & Window tint 20% back 35% front standard/legal limits- Hopefully this will ward off a few door dings and it looks good too.

Name: SideMoulding.jpg
Views: 51
Size: 56.4 KB

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Tow hitch - It's not recommended you tow anything with this car and in fact I've found out this will totally void your warranty!! So if you have one and need warranty work done, remove it before you go into the shop.
We're just going to use it for a bike rack so no big deal.
Install was easy...15 min. install

1st remove the skid guard - 3 bolts

Name: SkidPlate.jpg
Views: 39
Size: 78.7 KB

2nd bolt it on to the same holes from the skid plate and tow loop hook - 4 bolts.

Name: Hitch1.jpg
Views: 54
Size: 57.0 KB

3rd add obligatory "Christian Fish" hitch cap or whatever moves you and you're done!

Name: Fish.jpg
Views: 87
Size: 26.6 KB

Side view - Hitch is very low profile

Name: Hitch2.jpg

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Venture Shield clear bra protectant film.
From what I've read on the forum, the Fit is like a rock magnet so we decided this was a must-have as we intend to keep this car for the long haul.
We basically had the whole front / hood, partial side front fenders, side rocker panels and a section behind the back wheels to protect the area that Honda should have added mud/rock guards for anyway!
It wasn't cheap but the car should still be chip free and look good in 10 years. VS is one of the newer products on the market lately. It has a lifetime manufacturer and installer guarantee not to fade/discolor/peel/damage your paint etc.

If done right by a good installer it's virtually invisible.
Below are pics from normal standing distance, up close and macro. If you look closely in the close and macro pics you can just make out the trim lines but you literally cannot see it standing right there! You can also wash wax as normal.

Hood2 - Can you see it? This is just over a foot or so away.

Yes, we now have 3 orange cars!
No, we're not orange nuts, just coincidence that we both preferred that color in these particular cars....Guess which one she WON'T be driving?! ( Well maybe once, but she's honestly not interested now that she has her Fit! )

Oh, and let's see who can identify the mostly covered 3rd car in the back. A hint - It's probably older than many of you on this forum ha-ha!
