I will do the K20 Swap once N1 Concepts comes out with a kit, IF they plan to make a sell-able KIT and not just cut and weld!

R&D on the East coast and you can use my car!

they use full engine mounts, no cutting or welding of the frame rail is necessary

just wait a while and there will be something for the USDM guys

Hasport Mounts

The Hasport Mounts are finished and as usual they look great, the K20 swap is really not that hard if you use the correct parts , the USDM fit requires a very minor chassis modification but it can be done with a drill , but it allows for the correct driveshaft angles to be acheived as well as proper weight distribution over the front wheels. the really nice thing about the hasport mounts is that it allows for just a k20 swap or an entire front subframe swap as well so for future widebody or suspension upgrades you dont need to remount the engine. We are building two of the baddest fits on the planet and it will be released @ SEMA I may post some teaser pics soon.. if you want to get a set of mounts check out http://www.hasport.com/

what is the difference in chasis between usdm and jdm fit? will the k20 mounts be designed to accomodate jdm chasis as well for us jdm fit k20 wanabe owners out there

there are a lot of issues with the RHD fits and the K20. the placement of the engine puts a lot of angle on the DS but you have to for the electric steering to clear the differential.

actually, the RHD Fit doesn't have any issues at all w/ the electronic steering rack and the drive shafts on ours have the same angle as the stock Fit motor. the steering rack is on the right side and the K20 transmission/differential is on the left side. the USDM/LHD Fit has some issues clearing the steering column b/c the column is on the same side as the tranny.

Unfortunately I've never driven a stock JDM nor USDM Fit, so I can't compare stock handling vs. K20A Fit. But overall I'm really impressed with the N1 K20A Fit's handling even though there was practically zero suspension development time. We just bolted up the HKS HyperMax suspension 1 day before the Time Attack and went. Next morning, a quick check with toe plates at the track showed over 2" toe in! By lunch time we finally got it aligned. During shakedown session we immediately posted 2nd fastest lap time in class (thanks to K20A's good straight line speed, NO THANKS to the bone stock brakes), and with just 2 more laps we dropped 2 seconds good enough for the class win.

K20A Fit shows excellent potential and Norman and I discussed the possiblity of taking it to the next level. This yellow wide body Fit is a show car after all, N1 is considering building a road race Fit now. :-)
