Dayum, that sucks! I'd be skinning that raccoon to make hat after that; especially on a 8 day old car. On a good note, you could possibly get the body shop to not drill for the front plate or possibly get a Mugen front bumper if you were interested in it.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks so, but that looks to me like it could totally just be popped out from the inside and probably be good enough to leave as-is if the paint doesn't crack off too badly.

Bet you had a Shit Fit.

I ran over a whole family of coons a few years ago with my Caravan when it was only a few weeks old. One of them hit hard enuf to discolour the plastic of the black bumper a bit. Other than that I won the encounter.

Good luck on the repair.
