High Speed Chase Involving a TWB Fit

That was very funny! Glad they got the guy but funny that it took four hits to get him stopped and that the air bags deployed which gave the police no view of the bad guy. The driver must have not been familiar with the Honda Fits lack of speed!

Wow... my exact car... I'll have to send friends the link and freak them out
It did pretty damn good! Its rare to see a chased car survive a single decent pit manuever, much less three... and that last one was less a pit and more of a broadside slam... the wide freeways really helped though.
And you guys saying the Sport or alloys would have done better are kidding yourself. Remember, his tires were blown, and hes riding on rims. Steel wheels are more resilient than alloys and while I'm sure they were pretty bent up, they were at least round and didn't crack or shatter like alloys could have. And then he wouldn't have been able to take the fenders of 4 cruisers with him
A Fit's still not too great of a choice for a getaway car though... And really, no *car* is.

Ignorant question du jour:
Do the thieves have to pay for the damage done to the car as a result of their theft?
If not, why not?
And should the thieves be required to pay for the damages???
