Raver-mobile detailed!
These will be my last pics for a while. I just wanted to do a nice long detail since the outside of my car is almost complete (wing/grille that's all I need). 6 hour detail the night prior. Turtle ICE wash, Mothers claybar kit, ICE polish, Mothers wax. Cleaned engine bay (no pics, forgot), doorjambs, interior with vacuum + Turtle ICE interior cleaner on the plastics. Only pics of outside though! Wish my camera was better..
^ I know my outfit was ridiculous. I need to change my style up BADLY
and now, at the carshow:
My car will never be that clean ever again lol. No swirls, and you can see the damn blue pearl flakes! I want green flakes I'm gonna stop picture-whoring for quite a while now, so you guys don't start complaining that I post pics every day lol

yes indeed. I had a 12pack of microfiber towels I used them all lol. No orbital buffers here. Didn't find it necessary really. I move my hand reeeeeeally fast. By the end, I was so covered in sweat like I just ran 2 miles. The beer I had when it was all over, was the best damn beer I ever drank!

Goodyonsen, do it! Tint those JDM tails! I think people are afraid to screw up spraying. Well, there's always wetsanding and trying again if you do! I just didn't like how friggin BRIGHT and BIG the tails look without being tinted.
nxtfit, I don't wanna go lower! NJ has the worst roads in the country. I already scrape my lip enough lol
Goodguy, that day there were no waterspots. It's just the sun lol. Now though, there are waterspots everywhere ;/ I am tired of washing it every day so I'm gonna let it be dirty today lol I listed the products in the first post :P
Kaotic, detailing by hand is how they did it what, 20+ years ago right? Buffers are for the lazybones :P

Lol its not about being lazy, its just that its impossible to create the amount of friction and heat needed to break down a polish by using your hands. A polish needs to be broken down before it cuts, if not it won't do a darn thing. Also by polishing by hand you can't apply the even pressure you get from a flat 4" or 6.5" pad. Look up a thing called 'fingertip marring'. Its the main reason why polishing by hand isn't always the great ideas.
When I polish by hand its the hard to reach areas like underneath door handles, around emblems, lips, skirts, etc... And I use the most aggressive compound possible as I know a mild polish by hand won't do a thing.
As long as your careful about doing it you'll be fine, but most people aren't. They grab a rag, throw some polish on it and rub vigorously in circles. in the end its much easier and much more effective to pick up a porter cable and turn it into an investment.

Eh dont Most of the ones they sell are rotary buffers which only spin circular and at very high rpms. High enough rpms that can burn your clearcoat. Not to mention you cant find backing plates and pads at autozone.
A porter cable is a dual action random orbital. Which means it spins in a circle and also spins the entire rotational assembly in a circle if that makes sense. Sort of like the earth. That way you never stay in the same place while polishing. It also doesnt have the same power as rotary buffers but it definately gets the job done on Honda paint. Also its very beginner friendly, you can do some serious damage with a rotary buffer.
If you were to pick up a porter cable, backing plate, and a couple pads, youll probably spend just under $200. But learn to use it right and you can easily make that much money back from doing other peoples cars. Thats what I did.
