advice

Hey qbmurderer13

I always love looking at your before and after photos of your detail jobs. You are the man. I have been using Zaino products for about five years now, and I love them. I am about to purchace a porter cable and I am currently looking at Autogeek.net for a kit (pc with pinnacle twins for 179.99 or pc with pad kit for 199.99). Any advice for me? Thanks a lot.

Zaino makes very good products, I use a couple of there products. Honestly I would stay away from pinnacle or xmt products as theyre not the best. Autogeek just sponsors them so thats why theyll try to push them on you. No bash on autogeek I order 99% of my stuff through there as I get it the next day. Just pick up the porter cable, backing plates, and pads from them. Order some menzerna polishes from www.detailersdomain.com

The polishes really depend on what kinda of work you plan on doing. Giive me more specifics and I can direct you better, PM if you want so we dont clutter the thread

Swirls are microscopic scratches caused by improper washing technique such as using only one bucket or an old mitt. And if you live in a place that sees harsh conditions I admit it is harder to prevent swirls but your best bet would be to buy a foam gun and foam the entire car down for about 10 minutes before you wash it. That way you get most of the big particles of dirt and grime off without even touching your car. Always use 2 buckets, a grit guard, different lambswool mitts for the car and wheels, and only microfiber or waffle weave towels.
I think you meant avoidable(you could have used evitable--didn't know it was a word until now) in your argument.

The more times it gets dirty, the more times it has to be cleaned. The more times it has to be cleaned, the greater the possibility for swirls. If swirls were truly avoidable for extended periods of time, I think we would see far fewer buffers/product on the market.
