i honestly dont think it's that bad. As long as we all know it's just stripes and not "racing stripes"... hahaha

i like it for the fact that it would be super unique since most wont do em.. i say if you got the guts and the want.. do itt! worst case scenario you just gotta pull em off if you change your mind

In my opinion this looks horrible. It doesnt flow at all and just crosses right over the lines of the hood. I have seen stripes properly done on certain cars, but I think the GE8 has too many body lines to properly do a stripe without crossing the lines and clashing.

Here are some more traditional stripes that take advantage of the GE's hood "bulge". I think silver or gunmetal gray would look great also.

#1 - Mini Cooper style

#2 - Double Wide

#3 - Single Wide

#4 - Single Wide in black

Thanks for putting up more ideas. Like them or not I love to see the possibilities.

I'm definitely going to do stripes on mine. It's just a matter of deciding how wide, how many, and how far apart. I've been leaning heavily towards a Mini look.

Stripes can actually work quite well on more modern sporty hatches. The Colt for example, looks pretty nifty with the factory stripes on it. The Fiesta looks okay-ish [passable], as do Mini's.

I think some of the ones posted here for the GE8 work well. I can't agree with the GD though - the car looks too sharp for it, especially the USDM ones.
Nice to see some though.

Have you ever seen a 2005+ Mustang GT/CS in black? The stripe down the side is in flat black. It's a very subtle, cool effect -- the stripe is almost subliminal unless the light hits it just right.

Resurrecting this thread - I've been playing around with Paint (sorry, I don't have Photoshop) - came up with lots of options, in the end decided to go with the lines in the hood (the "V"). First I did full on black outlined in white ala MINI (I just got rid of my Cooper with the black bonnet stripes, I think I still have residual MINIness) but decided the multi thin-thick stripes looked best...Thoughts?

I like that, although I'd move them closer to the centerline to accentuate the natural hood shape even more.

Still haven't done my stripes yet. Waiting on warmer weather.

GD3 Wagoon ... just curious... how wide are those stripes? I'm looking to put racing stripes on a red GD1 an am figuring dual 8 inch black would work but i'm trying to get a sense of proportion. The master plan is racing stripes, carbon fiber spoiler, 16 inch black rims with a drop.
