both of these are old school pics both with very few mods compaired to today, but i'll get some good ones this summer
first pic is at a marina on the southeast corner for the great salt lake 20 min from my home. the island in the bacground is antelope island, it's filled with antelope and bison and the have hotair balloon launches there several times a year (20+ balloons) that would be very cool to catch in the background

this pic is taken on the bonneville salt flats (75 min from my house) no speed limit on the salt and even topping a car out accross it, it gets really boreing really fast, but it's incredible how spectacular it is out there the salt goes on forever

the berm behing me is man made to protect the salt it's about 5 miles long but i once started about this same spot in my turbo crx and in a slow and steady runup to 145+ mph and keeping it at that for about ten miles i actually got bored and turned around and trust me once you've done that fast, driving back to the video camera at about 50mph seemed like forever. 7 monthe out of the year this is under 18" of water but the other times it's beautiful, i've been out here when the salt is as hard as concrete and when spinning circles you actually leave black tire marks, and other times the salt has a slight moisture on the surface (usually in the morning)
sorry for the detour i didn't mean to thread jack
i'll post more in this thread later - thanks to the OP for starting it
