I did Sattin...but i think i should have done matte. it doesn't match my rear bumper applique.

And no i just got down on a creeper and taped it up with a STRAIGHT line and scuffed it up with steel wool and then cleaned it with thinner and then painted it

im quite noob here..

did the 09 come with 2 different headlights?? is the sport different sized compared to other models>????

im wondering cause i was at my school parking lot and i saw another fit same colour as mine BBP i think its the dx model? not sure doesnt matter i have sport

and i noticed something really weird the other fit had blacked out head lights.. not black but dark dark grey and mine are reflector coloured...

here are the pics..
crappy pictures, i used my phone... sorry
1. can you see the difference?

2. picture of the blacked-out lights on this random dx

3. one more

4.close up

4. and our sport/ my fit

they look the same to me but i may be wrong...
i tried searching for the answer on fitfreak but couldnt find a thread that explained this.. wondering if anyone can answer this here
sorry if this is a long post ill delete it if you dont like it..

but if they are the same im gonna go talk to my dealer and ask them to change it since they never asked me if this was what i wanted nor why honda did this..

one is a base model and one is sport. the sport comes with chrome/smokish headlights and the base comes with blackish grey headlights

isnt the base model headlights what we are trying to achieve here? by painting them that way?

even on the honda website the gallery pictures look like they are blacked out

yeah, if you paint them your making them looking like base ones. I think they look better, less obvious.

Love the look of your car. Its also a great write-up.
Did you paint that little piece of the reflector that extends out a little the same black color.

I did mine flat black but debated on how to do that little piece (black or body match) just ended up leaving it chrome

anyways great post thanks

hmm if you use glossy paint or any other paint do you have to sand anything down? do you just take them out and just spray right on top of stock color? thanks =) the DIY looks great and simple just the question i ask i needed help on =P
