Dirty Fit Content: Old Blimp Hangar Site, Click here for some crazy pics
I was visiting one of my friends in North Carolina, he stated that there was a blimp hangar near his house and we decided that some urban exploring needed to be done.
Here are some pics. I am still amazed at the SIZE of this place.
This just shows the sheer size of this place, I was at the opposite end of what was left of this hangar, it burnt down in 1995 from construction of the door supports.
And yes that blue dot is my Fit. The building was approximately 1/4 mile long
In this picture, it shows all the ruble that is left, like ground up bricks and cinder blocks. Those in some spots were well over 2 stories tall.
Those towers are at least 150-200 feet tall, from what we guessed. Those are the only things left.
From doing some research online, it was the largest wooden structure in the United States before it burnt down.
Now on to the rest of the pictures.
And one last one to show the other hangar that is still in use. Yo
u guys dont know how bad I wanted to go in this place.
I will have more as my buddy also took some pics with some wide angle lenses, as I was only shooting with my kit lens.
