The Official Blue Sensation Pearl Thread
#101
I've owned this car for 8 months or so, and EVERY TIME I wash the car and park somewhere, somebody mentions how much they like the color of the car. I've even had a lady walk across the street specifically to comment on it.
Is anyone else getting this?!

My Blue Sensation Contribution
I posted this in another forum... but I guess I should check in with my BSP here. Sorry to bore those who've already viewed... just wanted to make it official in the "Official Blue Sensation Pearl" thread.

Has anyone gotten body work / paint job done in their BLUE GE8 Fit yet? Was it hard for the shop to get the color matched?
Also, does anyone know for sure whether body shops ALWAYS mix their own paint? I asked in 5 places, big and small, and they always came up with a story for not being able to use Honda OEM paint... as if it does not exist. wth?!?!

Look at my pics and my JDM part thread with pics. you can see that the original color of the front and rear bumper were white. before i put the parts on, i had a painter get the color code and mix his own paint. its not hard. it only took him 2 days to paint my parts.
my guy is so baller!!! he mixed so perfectly. every where i go, people are always saying that it looks OEM. i forgot the paint code off the top of my head but it should be on the driver side door. i just remember it begins with a "B"

they can match paint pretty good now
make sure you get a high quality paint like Dupont Chroma Base or sikkens
B548P
i paid $50 for a pint, and that was plenty to do my whole bumper
I got the Dupont Chromabase mixed from a paint supplier

Have you looked at the paint job under DIRECT sunlight? See if you can determine whether the sparkle/metallic has the same 'depth' and overall qualities as the original paint. In my case, there is a most definite difference.

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but I wondered if any of you BSP owners could answer a question for me that I posted here:

Thanks.

Guys, I saw a 2nd Generation Fit Sport yesterday in the US, in a color I had never seen before. It was a dark red wine. (NOT the brighter red we see around). Honda website is not showing this color. What gives?
Canada website not showing it either.
