Detailed my 2009 TW Fit
Hey guys, I been so busy lately I havent been able to even wash my car in quite a while. Been putting my customers cars before mine
Anyways here are the pics.
Wheels before:
Letting the P21S wheel gel soak for a minute
Foaming the car with Chemical guys citrus wash & clear
After that was rinsed off I used the 2 bucket method with dodo juice born to be mild shampoo. Quickly dried off with my craftsmen 265mph blower and put into garage to finish the minor details.
Door jambs were quite dirty
That was easily cleaned with some Optimum no rinse
After clay baring the car with Zaino Z18 and optimum gloss enhancer I wiped it down with some Isopropyl alcohol to remove any remaing oils or water that I missed from drying. I put the car under the halogens to see if there was any swirls or scratches.
Thankfully ive been taking good care of it so there hasnt been any swirling. Either way I decided to polish with using menzerna 106fa on a white pad just to bring the paint a little more gloss. Didnt get any pictures of this process though. After that I applied Meguiars #21 using a red ccs pad on my porter cable and let it haze for about 8 hours.
Buffed off and removed any remaining dust using Zaino Z6 and applied Z16 tire gloss and took it outside for some pics. Not the best since it was getting dark and didnt feel like moving the car to a better location. Also my camera sucks...
Thanks for looking!
Edit: Added some better pictures and sun shots from the following morning.

Appreciate all the kind words guys. This was just a quickie too only took me 4 hours. Most cars I do are trashed and take me 8 to 10 hours. Although white is very good at hiding swirls and other defects. Black is a different story!

#26 is a really really good product. Its my most used wax. I personally wouldnt put nxt 2.0 together with it though. They are both essentially the same thing. #21 can be applied by hand and lasts 3 times more than nxt does. I would put a coat of #21 and left to cure for at least 4 hours. After you remove that you can top with a thin layer of #26. If you put too much youll be removing the #21.
Also another tip after you wash and dry a car mist the car with Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and just wipe away. This will help remove any glazes or old wax residue and gives the sealant a better surface to bond too. I find by doing this adds at least another month to durability.

Damn I bet you car looks better than it did when it was new!!!
If I ever spend that much time washing my Fit I hope it would turn out half as good. Hopefully I will remember the isopropyl alcohol tip, because it seems useful

I remember in the Summer, waxing the car with just the #26 and it didn't last long at all. Maybe a week or two. Then I used Quik Wax + NXT and that's still on there right now. Not much, but still smooth to the touch. It's been about 2 months at least.

Well sealant is supposed to go under carnauba. Like I said if you do an isopropyl wipe down before applying wax or sealant it will last longer. Nxt looks great but its known for its poor durability. I would just apply #26. After you buff it off you can also use meguiars quick ultimate detailer. This will remove any wax residue you mightve missed and add a little bit more protection since it contains carnauba.

The car looks great. I'll be using the Optimum No Rinse throughout the winter but might purchase a foam gun for the summer. Did you spray the car with the foam gun and then rinse before you washed with the mitt? I was thinking you could use the foam gun and go right to washing with the mitt?

Yeah I pre soaked the entire car with it then rinsed it off. I just did that to remove the previous wax as the CG soap I used is very strong. When I'm just washing it I foam the whole car once then rinse off to get most of the grime off. Then do each panel at a time by foaming, then dipping the mitt in a bucket of clean water with a grit guard and wash each panel. Optimum no rinse is an awesome product by the way. Its almost 90 degrees here today and I still use ONR.
