I bought a Fit because it was affordable & i liked the way it looked opposed to other cars in my price range. It wouldn't be a waste of money to buy turbo if i wanted because i couldn't afford to pay 8k-10k more for a car that i like w/ more HP. Just like you wouldn't have payed more for a hybrid.

Hey your Fit looks good. It's not a total waste if that's what you like or prefer but with all the money you spend trying to make the Fit faster plus the money that you spent to buy the Fit, you could have gone and bought a used 8th Gen Civic Si or maybe a new 8th Gen Si or may an 8th Gen Civic EX.

Why would I want a used car (albeit maybe faster) if I can buy a new one? I don't know, man, this world is about having choices. Maaaybe I think an Si is butt ugly, also maaaaybe an Si doesn't exist on my neck of the wood (Indonesia). The Type-Rs that do exist here come as a grey import and costs as much as USD40,000 new or no lower than USD30,000 used. Grey imports don't have any support in after-sales service nor spare parts. If something breaks, I have to buy them in Singapore, which is a country next door. The rest of the world is not as easy, pretty and dandy as the US. Hey that rhymes...

So a new Jazz is $16,000 + $1500 for a turbo = $17,500. A used Type-R anything (civic, accord, whatever) is USD30,000. Hmm, the choice is much simpler.

Again, let me rererestress. I wasn't building a 1/4-mile or a track car with the Jazz. I have my STi for that. Here's a couple of pics for those who asked for it:

Maybe your cup of tea is getting 100 mpg which is great. You and the other guys who are into it should totally research it and by all means, please post it and let us know what you found out. I along with maybe a minority few are into power, at least I've always been into power. Maybe the L15A will blow up at the magical 200whp mark, maybe it won't. Maybe the cvt will hold until 1 bar, maybe it won't. I know you don't want to find that out with your car, but some people are willing to find out for you. And I am sure when his car blows, he will post all over fitfreak and at least you will be informed.

After leaving my car in hiatus for months since I got my other ride (a JDM STi), I thought it's time to give it some love. I got a custom turbo kit made for the car using IHI turbo and custom piping+intercooler. I use dual BOV system with Blitz and a bov from a mitsubishi evo III to bleed the boost. The problem with the vtec engine is that it likes to make boost spikes (up to 0.7 bar sometimes! Yikes!) and I need the second evo III bov rerouted to the intake in order to "leak" some of the boost out. On the dyno, I got a nice 0.5 bar tapering down to 0.4 bar all the way to redline. Nice and safe for daily use, especially since I am on CVT. After tuning with a Dastek Unichip, I got a final number of 175.7hp and 192.5Nm torque at the CRANK. So at the engine, you can probably minus that by 25-30%. I don't really care for numbers anyway, because this car will never break any land speed records. I put the turbo on because this jazz is my road warrior and it'd be nice to give it a little oomph. On first impression, the car does feel a little "light" and "spirited". It's nothing like my STi of course (which is a pure track car compared to the jazz) but my butt dyno feels great. Car feels nimbler, accelerates faster and in general feels like an overall bigger hp car.

Here are the pics:

Looks almost stock!

Here's the dual bov system, blitz on top and the evo 3 bov right by the intake

Peekaboo! I had to make a custom bumper grill but I spray painted it black to make it more stealthy....

Pivot boost gauge and apex'i turbo timer in a custom pod

All lighted up....blang blang...

And for you dyno worshippers....Look at how linear the graph is (I hate dynos...)

nice car bro

i dont think its a waste of money, if you dont wanna invest in performance, then that's your thing. if he wanted to put money into the fit, let him, its his money. and as a matter of fact, the fit is quite a platform to race autox in, with a few suspension mods, it can be quicker than s2000s, which are twice the cost of a fit. If you dont agree with other people do with their car, then fine, but dont go around trying to change people's opinions, especially if you tell soemone else its not a waste of time or money when they modify their car. The fit is about being unique and modifying cars is about making your car your own.

to the op, numbers look good, install looks good since you cant really tell there's a turbo if you have untrained eyes. good job!

Did you understand "IMO"? It means "In MY Opinion", MY opinion only and not yours. Some people don't read before posting comments. tsk tsk tsk..

And to the original poster, I don't have anything against you or your Fit or what you have done to your Fit. I was stating MY opinion like everybody is entitled to state their opinion. I know that you are proud of your ride but if you don't like criticism/negative opinions from other users then why post. By the way your STi looks great, I like it.

This is a forum and everybody is free to state their opinion. If you don't like it then don't read it. It's as simple as that. In contrast to what you said, you quoted my post that indicates you care or gives a S**t j/k

i know what imo means, but you spent half the thread saying how the fit was an eco car and what not, when you try defending why people buys cars turns from your opinion to you wanting others to see it your way... thats all.. if u got the fit for eco reasons, more power to u, but if some ppl dont care about that and want to turbo their cars, let them, but i agree, the sti is quite nice

Always liked yer ride. Why'd you change the grille for your bumper though? Dynatek gives high HP rating though, but not bad numbers for the Fit.

Shut up, noob. OT

Funny, I didn't see anywhere where I said I don't like criticism or negative opinions from other users including you. I was just replying to what you said. Frankly, I couldn't care less if anyone likes my car or what I have done to it. I posted the photos of my car here not to score any brownie points (God, that's so high school...) but in case, let me repeat IN CASE, anyone has any questions, I am here to answer instead of a forum full of "i heard this other guy..." or "he/she says...."

It's a Dastek dyno. Stock Fits read 120hp on it. The original grill had to go coz with the intercooler, it can't fit there anymore, unless I want to hack all the clips/holders off, which I really don't wanna do.

Black01 is just a troll that needs to bash to get attention. Contradicts himself when people respond to his bait, doing nothing but hijacking a thread he has nothing to contribute to but to tell others what (he thinks) Honda designers and engineers mandate the proper use of the Fit is. Small econo cars with turbos have been around for decades! Remember the old Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon that had the turbo? The GLH model? (Goes Like Hell!) Fun little car back in the day!

Sort of surprised he still has any positive rep left. The standards must be set pretty low!

He is a troll.....should we put up a sign "Please do not feed the trolls! "???

Now, bringing the thread back on topic, nice job! I wish they would have offered it from the factory!!!

Nice build man on the FIT. I would say its a waste to try and make the fit fast like some people do. But in ur case i know u are not seeing u already have a car that is fast in the corners. AKA the STI. But i do see some people on here saying they want a car fast in the corners and are trying to do that with the fit. Now that is a waste of mony to do when u could just get a STI, EVO for that. But u sir are just trying to make ur DD more practical for u and are not taking it to the track which in my book is not a waste of money. I got the fit for a DD to save gas and money untill i can afford another EVO or a S2000,STI not sure which yet but in a couple of years i want one of these cars to replace my fit
