To me, I'd think the black headlights with the lamin-x would look the coolest.

Flat black + yellow bulbs.

NHBP looks so tacky since it's the only shiny black thing on the front of the car.

Anyone find a flat black color that they painted the housings with that was spot-on with the lower black grill?

Haha you weren't kidding when you said you were a perfectionist.

I forgot which one I used, I know for sure I redid one of them at work the next day with a can of black rustoleum we had. Both look the same to me, and both pretty much match the lower grill. You could always just respray the lower grill too if you were really concerned.

Haha don't hate. :b

But yeah, I guess I could spray the lower grill to match, but then it wouldn't be the original. :b

On my other car I had the front lip painted flat black but had them add in the flex agents for urethane and it came out almost perfect to the factory black plastic mud flaps, it was slightly smoother finish which made it alittle more reflective to light but it was the closest I've seen...

flat black with urethane flex agents=

Ooo I like that... can you buy these urethane flex agents? Or is it not available to the G.P.? Is it something you just spray on, on top of the paint?

Its something that is mixed in with the paint before its sprayed, urethane parts are very flexible, you can twist it up and it will go back to its shape. Your paint with shatter off if its twisted up like that, the cure for that is adding flex agents to the paint, its added into the paint and then when its sprayed the paint has a certain amount of flexibility to it so it wont crack and split.

Any reputable body shop that has delt with body kits and what not could do it no problem. The flex agent takes away some of the flatness of the color and makes it a almost a semi-gloss kinda color.

edit - "The flex agent takes away some of the flatness of the color and makes it a almost a semi-gloss kinda color." <---- when the color is "flat" to begin with, such as flat black in my case.

Hmm, guess I won't be able to do that on my own then. Mine are getting pitted already since I didn't clear coat them, maybe when I redo them I'll try some semi-gloss paint. Either that or do one light coat of clear.
