I look at it this way... Take cereal for example....
Frosted Flakes
Sugar Flakes
yes they look the same... Yes the generic are cheaper... But do they taste the same? NO... Usually the generic are cheaper quality, sog quicker and taste horrible.
Rota hating isnt a NEW fad... its been around for YEARS....

As I mentioned previously, I chose my Rota RB's because I think they look much better than the Panasports and Watanabes they are patterned after.
I can afford the originals, that's not the issue for me.
Yeah, Rota hating has been around for a long time, that's why it's played out and lots of people are tired of hearing that BS.
This was a thread about ugly wheels, not replicas, but the played out Rota haters never miss an opportunity to spread the hate.

Like I said, I dont HATE Rotas. Its fun to make fun of them though.
And all the wheels Ive ran werent expensive. I get great deals on my sets.
The set I just got wasnt cheap. Theres no knock offs of these and pretty sure there wont be.

wow, this thread is getting pretty INTENSE!!!
All i can ask is WHY DO YOU EVEN MOD THE FIT?? ITS STILL GOING TO BE SLOW AND A LOW END CAR!
A lot of people have the itch to modify their rides (i know i hate riding stock). Everyone's itch is different type and in different areas (does that make sense??)

did everyone forget that rotas are replicas? and that this is an ugly thread? are all the wheels knockoffs emulate ugly?
cause last time i checked, they were copies of mugens, volks, works etc.
i can't remember who posted it, but brining up fake body kits was a great point. if you are rocking a full on mugen copy body kit and then talk crap on rotas, you have some prioritizing to do.
jdm chris does bring up a valid point about the cereal though, it never does taste the same.
but tasting the cereal and getting that unique taste is the benefit of the name brand.
the benefit of expensive wheels is the following:
1.status (i.e. guys respect you more. i personally think its silly to be respected for knowing how to blow cash.)
2.weight reduction and strength.
number one isn't worth spending the extra cash. and number 2 only benefits those who track their car and put it through a lot of abuse. and even then, that can be argued, as many have tracked rotas, and i doubt any of you are running faster times because of your super expensive wheels. they make sense on the spoon and ajr fit. but not yours.

I like the last one, if it had black all around, and a red star center.
it's why I like the Konig Hot Swaps, they come in 15's and they come in black, with CF inserts, for looks of course.

I love Minis and that style of Mini wheels.
I tried to upload a bigger pic to my sig but I can't figure out how to do it. It always gets resized to that tiny size.

I got some fake raisin bran that tastes better than the original.
I put it in the real box though, cause I'm embarrased.

Sometimes we get Great Value "Nutrigrains" and not the real Nutrigrains.
I taste no difference.
Some things do taste different. Like the cheap stuff of Ramen noodles.
Its bad enough youre trying to save money when buying Ramen noodles and its like $0.20 per bag.
*LAUGHS!*
The cheap stuff doesnt have as much flavor.

yah, my gunmetal Drag 21's look better than the original RPF1's on my car
since it's silver. i like how they look on the car so i got them... plus, on
a dd, it gets ruined pretty quickly.
i have SSR GT3 wheels with RE050A PolePosition tires that are $1k each
corner on my G35C and i dont go out knocking on folks with cheaper
wheels. hell, at one time i had 2 full sets. i also have brand new BBS
wheels with SportMaxx Dunlops (made in japan) on my cooper-s.
i think it's stupid to be running expensive wheels on a
cheap car unless you absolutely need the weight reduction edge...
otherwise it's no different than having a non-functional huge wing
on a riced-out civic.
as posted already, balance is key.
rota's, konigs, tsw's, drags are fine on the Fit's and Civics and most
lower-end cars out there.

yes it fine to have rotas, drags..etc
but it sounds like you got some hate in your heart for people with more expensive wheels. mabye the wheels they have are not made as a knock off and thats the only option for them
i guess like me, i have 96 spec ITRs, there is no knock off for that wheel ( hx's look totaly different when sitting next to these)
they are only offerd in one color, offset, size, and a 4x114.3 lug pattern.
it cost me alot of money for these, they are not rotas or anyother brand like that so is that usless for me to have them on my my dd?
