Or did you just guess when you cut each spring?

Well I guess Xavier and his friends were used to cutting springs since they had they have been in Honda's or something Lame like that, so he knew where to cut but when he cut them I noticed he used a piece of tape to mark the other spring to make sur when it was cut it would be even

cutting springs real bad idea!!!

cutting your springs can prematurely damage your struts. it is also dangerous because you are weaking the spring. The spring is made to with stand a certain amount of weight. If you cut them to remove coils from the spring you are weaking it. I've seen some cases where the springs would just crack and brake. Obviously destroying the strut as well. i do not recommend doing this at all. If you want that slammed look get springs with a lower ride hight or get adjustable coilovers. Just my opinion. You can do what you want but you might regret it later.

Hey you don't have to get all crazy on me!!! I don't have proof right now but when I was working for honda as a tech I had seen it happen 3 times. All 3 cars had chopped or heated springs. Whats all the god talk about anyway. This is a fit fourm not a religion opinions forum. Just giving you advice. Thats all. If you want to waste money be my guest. I forgot you are an automotive engineer. Don't you think if the springs were ment to be cut that TEIN would have done it for you. Go and call them and ask them if thats safe to do! They will tell you the same thing!!!

If I wanted to know or if it bothered me I would go and ask.

In this case I didn't so that probably means i don't care.

i don't need a lecture about my springs. ill gladly take what you said into consideration though.. i didn't heat my spring nor did i hack off half the spring.
when you make the payments you make the decisions. simple as that.

hey its all good. I'm not hating!!! I'm happy to see your a member of fit freak. Its your car and you can do what you want too. Oh, by the way it looks good. I think its cool that you have a fit and your modding it. Good luck and welcome to the forum even though we started off on the wrong foot. Sorry if i pissed you off. If you didn't heat them or cut a coil what did you do?
